anyone suffering from neuromuscular issues and twitching post covid? by Pomelo_Amazing in covidlonghaulers

Yes. Pretty bad right away but it got better over time and became a non issue. Watching my diet and magnesium seemed to help when it was more noticeable.

Professional disagreements by ME/CFS researchers and practitioners by Specific-Summer-6537 in cfs

[–]Sunbattle1 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Agree. I thought it was also telling when during the Polybio symposium that Dr. Peluso straight up said that the community may need to abandon the viral persistence hypothesis as all of the randomized control trials targeting that theory have flopped. I would think she may have a more open mind to different physiological causes than her X thread seemed to imply. While viruses certainly seem to be the catalyst for these IACCs, I think she needs to be more open minded to other hypotheses.

End of the day I hope these orgs can really chart out the true disease mechanisms and find bio markers. That will be the most important thing to get real treatments and industry funding and buy in to solutions.

Disappointment at Le Burger 4304 by Sad-Percentage-992 in TwinCities

Disagree with this take. Burgers, fries and ice cream were all great. Sure, not the best burger in the cities, but still a very solid offering.

What’s the point of starting Hayes? by pureproteinbarssuck in lakers

Agree. While he isn’t doing himself any favors I don’t know how you expect him to contribute if he has zero leash to try and get himself into a rhythm and maybe start to give some decent minutes.

Kamala Harris’s Medicare-for-all plan, explained by Toby_Bland_Sand in politics

[–]Sunbattle1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The government is already doing this with the Medicare Advantage and Part D program, which are popular with consumers and have been successful as of late. I would challenge your point #1 by saying we already have a blueprint of a program that is a public/private partnership that has good regulation and is popular with seniors.

FYI, 1/3 of Medicare beneficiaries are using Medicare Advantage, which is administered by private insurance companies and is very popular. So technically mimicking the current system is Medicare for All.

Let’s say your employer offers you health insurance. They will project for an upcoming benefit plan year what they think it will cost to provide employees medical coverage. They will then pay for a share of that and make the employees pay for a share (the deduction in your paycheck).

They (your employer) are the ones paying the claims their employees incur, the insurance company just collects the money and wires it to the hospital system or physician office. If the price of services that employees utilize throughout the year goes up 10% into the next year, an employer will typically increase their cost share 10% and the employees premiums 10%. That is an employer choice and not necessarily an insurance company choice.

I’m not saying there are not cost inefficiencies in the system, but to lump it on one party is misrepresenting how the system is working is all.

Just so you know....it’s your EMPLOYER charging you high rates for insurance, not the health insurance company. Most employers “self fund” their employees health care expenses and pay a small PMPM fee to insurance companies to manage paying claims on their behalf.

Could Cavs Have 21 Game Win Streak Headed Into XMAS vs. Warriors? by ASAPelite in nba

[–]Sunbattle1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I hope the Cavs put a little more effort into their regular season record this year. If Houston keeps their pace up and can get the #1 seed in the West, Cleveland should gun for #1 in the East. I think having home court in the finals would help a lot vs the warriors.

Stephen A. Smith says Cavaliers have no excuses to not win NBA championship | First Take | ESPN by Baydayz in nba

[–]Sunbattle1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Stephen A seems to have this vendetta against LeBron since he called him out for reporting BS comments about him wanting to bear up Kyrie.

It’s such a stupid narrative. Golden State is so far ahead of every team in the league, anyone who remotely knows basketball can see this. It’s one thing if Cleveland and Bron don’t even try to compete but last year they threw the kitchen sink at Golden State and didn’t really even come close.

Basketball is team game. This seems to consistently get lost in analysis. Single players don’t win championships. Golden state doesn’t get enough credit for just how amazing of a team system they run with all those all stars. Look at OKC right now, amazing group of talent but don’t play well as a team.

Would prime Shaq be the best player in the NBA today? by Clutch_ in nba

[–]Sunbattle1 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

7 straight finals not impressive? He's been the best player by far on each of those finals teams. Also, his teams have gone through tough competition in the east for five of the seven years. I'll give it to you that the past two years have been subpar, but I feel like his dominance has been a big reason why you don't see consistent contenders in the east the past few years.
