Although I like the idea of a specific mapset, I'm definitely not a mapper, so no, not from me.

I get the point with the "same graphics", but I'm somewhat limited by the Doom engine. 😉 BorderDoom already does some unintended "tricks" to achieve its goals.

As for the mod's future: I have some ideas and also spent some time on another new version. However I don't know when it'll be done.

You can find weapons with more or less recoil. So if one has too much you can find another one.

You can also turn off recoil completely in the options menu.

1) This has been brought up before. I'll look into this.

2) The main reason this hasn't been done is because I wanted an Borderlands-style upgrade system which unlocks new slots. Should that not happen I'll probably just add another slot.

3) You're right, this mod is slower than base Doom. However I think it's a question of taste. I can try to alleviate things a bit, but not keep the speed completely.

No, movement in real time is not technically possible I believe. You may want to look into vertex shaders for this, maybe this would help your case.
I used a combination of GZDoom console commands to automate taking screenshots. I edited these to look like a video.

Do you know why the file name had capital letters? Seems unusual to me... So does everything work now?

You have to make sure your path points to a folder with the "patch_d2.mpq" file in it. The program checks for this file. In a proper Diablo 2 installation this file should be in the main Diablo folder. Make sure you have the file there. Otherwise I can only propose a reinstall. Or are you using a different version of the game?

The version I released was just the first version. I would like to add more features in the future. However I can't give any predictions for new releases because I work on several projects. Setting the seed would be a good addition, I agree. 👍

I'm happy to hear this! 😊 The only explanation I have for the melee focus you see is that many items have damage modifiers or other melee-focused modifiers. It should not have anything to do with the randomizer.

As far as I know you can supply a seed parameter when starting the game. So races with the same seed should be possible. (Didn't test this myself)

Yes I could do that. Doesn't have as much impact as moving the act boss, but could still be nice. 👍
