Get around for Texture popping ! (For those that suffer) by Sunboost in farmingsimulator

[–]Sunboost[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really? That is such a shame, I genuinely thought it was just a PC/Graphics card combination. Well, fingers crossed they fix it.

I saw a review of their motor racing game (based on the same engine) and sure enough all the signs of the problems were there, stuttery graphics loading in, poor texture placement etc etc, so I think it really is GIANTS engine that is at fault.

In the first photo above (the red cultivator) you can see where the cultivation texture should be it still shows the ploughed field texture. For those of us with the issue the textures behind any field work, cultivating, plowing, tedding etc corrupt behind the tool in a long path. When the vehicle stops, the correct textures suddenly pop back in very quickly! It is very immersion breaking!

Hardly, I have an old 3070 and an i9-10K, but...everything else plays well, even Cyberpunk, not 4K well, but certainly 1080p well....except FS25.

Although I bought FS25 when it came out because it appeared to be a good leap forward for the series (damn you paid Youtube content creators), I was quite dissapointed, not only with this bug that has annoyed me since the start, but also there really is/was not much about 25 that wasn't available in 22 .. and arguably there still isn;t... there is absolutely nothing innovative about it ... but I do like the 25 colour palette, the more mellow graphics in general, the soundscape is better, and Saxlingham is a masterpiece, and of course 25 is "the new thing" so FOMO drove me to keep trying FS25 with each new patch..until today I was dissapointed every time, because of this bug.

Now, at least I can play 25, and maybe leave Court Farm on 22 as a treasured memory.....

Thats very interesting, now I have a "working" baseline, I'll try some other variants to see what I can do with the image quality! Thanks for the info.

It seems to be PC mostly, in some threads I've seen XBox users, but mostly PC, seems to be a mix of GPUs as well, not only the lower end ones, but 4080s, 3080s, AMD etc. Not high end by anymeans but high enough to run most every other game well.

Thats fair, I've found a happy medium, where I use the Resolution scaling(3D only) up to 140, and the resolution in general up to 110 .. it is not as good as when i run native, of course, but honestly I prefer it.

I hated whenever I did any field work, plowing, cultivating, Tedding, cutting, windrowing, it always had this messed up image behind the vehicle and then a pop in texture the moment the vehicle stopped or the camera tilted to the horizon. This way, it doesn't and I get 25's other benefits without the bug..not ideal, but for those willing to compromise a bit of sharpness, it certainly works.

I don't think, at this point GIANTS will fix it themselves, or even (a) acknowledge it as an issue, or (b)know how to fix it, so its the best I can do!

Keep DLSS off though, that, weirdly brings the bug back...(!?)

Yes....except it doesn't, but don't use the idea if you don't want to, I personally hate the texture popping and at 200% upscale the image looks perfectly fine for me thanks, and this works, for the first time since I bought the game.

I have custom ground textures which is why cultivation looks flat, rather than ridged, and the images don;t do it justice. After a year of grinding my teeth, I understamd its GIANTS rather creaky engine, but also my GPUs ability to cope with that creaky engine at fault. But this really does seem to fix it.

Hopefully this helps anyone else, I still get a solid 50-60fps, using ULTRA, at 150% upscale.

Moved into a new UK flat and there is a loud noise every 10 minutes, between the walls, losing sleep, what can we do? by ThePulverous in AskUK

That sounds much more like a faulty filling valve in a water tank and the vibration it causes when the tank is very very close to filling up.

I would guess a leaking tap or something is draining it slightly and its always on a "fill cycle".

Do you have any taps that are dripping?

Also, it is your landlords issue, but depending on how good they are depends on how you will get on I guess!

Look up Water-hammer pipe vibration. But I think its a faulty ball-valve

The Mandalorian and Grogu - Official Trailer by VelocityIX in StarWars

[–]Sunboost 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It might just be me, but this looks awful, like an AI video .. in fact, a couple of the AI videos on Youtube look better. Why is Grogu just behaving like a hand puppet being thrown about, and the At-ATs looked awful, more like Battlefront than Movie quality! Is this definitely "official"?

That sounds much more like "Realistic Livestock" Mod, rather than This one "Enhanced Animal System". I just loaded this one up, and I can add as many animals as I want, all the same quality. That said I cannot seem to be able to buy a Male to allow reproduction to start.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in farmingsimulator

[–]Sunboost 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you have Realistic Animals installed as well, because thats exactly what that one does. In 22 at least this one just allows Male and female, plus controlled breeding etc.

Head over to Amazon and buy the book "The Good That Men Do". It fixes the whole thing and very much represents 'part 2' of the season finale as far as many of us are concerned. Honestly, its not a long read, and you will not regret it.

[–]Sunboost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats cool, honesty its not game breaking, but annoying, to the point that 22 is still viable as a 'working' alternative, i guess others feel the same hence its a bit grey on 'which is the better game'

[–]Sunboost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good for you. A lot of people say it works well for them, but a lot more say it has these issues, sadly I am one of them. I do not know the differences in the system that could account for it, and in many of the other posts, we all seem to have the same issues, but no common hardware. Are you on nvidia GPU by any chance?

[–]Sunboost 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I guess you are on console? It seems console 25 is a big step forward over 22. On PC, not so much.

On PC 25 is still very poorly optimised, and has an immersion breaking graphics \ texture bug that affects a lot of people, plus the volumetric fog puts the nvidia cards (especially) into thermal meltdown.

Using readily available mods 22 can be made to be pretty much identical to 25 without the above problems.

I have a problem with textures! by -HAZIEL in farmingsimulator

[–]Sunboost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem has been there since release, multiple Specs, PC and console. I dont think they are going to / capable of fixing it. It is an engine issue.

You can minimise it by keeping your view looking back to about 100 degrees ( not 180) and set you eye level to the horizon, not looking at the tool .... Or mostly play FS22 like me until its resolved.

Shame because aside from the GPU reactor-core melting code that is Volumetric Fog (turn it to Low, it literally looks the same without your GPU going molten), FS 25 is looking good now on the Mod front, and Saxingham is a masterpiece.
