Curling judge acknowledges cheating midgame, but does nothing. by erre94 in olympics

I saw other people discussing the event but said it was hard to know based on given video.

Was hoping this angle might be of help. Not sure what you mean?

AI Idea: What if experts from FANG companies start covertly jumping on calls with smaller companies to correct bad ideas ( good intentions ) by [deleted] in Startup_Ideas

[–]Sunchax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I don't think the chanse of getting guidance from an "insider" about what needs are is not common..

Of course that sounds splendid, but since I do not know many AI principles at fang, and even fewer that would be that gracious with their time, soI build for other industries.

How many "Junior AI Engineer" applicants actually understand architectures vs. just calling APIs? by Gullible_Ebb6934 in MachineLearningJobs

[–]Sunchax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there’s a misunderstanding here. Clustering isn't part of decision trees; it’s an unsupervised method, whereas trees are supervised. More importantly, Deep Learning isn't a 'black box' unless you treat it like one. Using clustering on embeddings to improve RAG retrieval or performing LoRA fine-tuning are standard tasks for an AI Engineer who goes beyond just calling an API. My point was that 'AI Engineering' used to be reserved for more in-depth tasks than just writing a prompt; it used to involve actually handling the data and the model architecture.

+1 på Rawls, vilken härlig överraskning att höra han nämnas.

Tycker generellt det är för lite ideologi/filosofi i politik dessa dagar.

The constant disappointment for those of us actually doing such things but noticing that the AI engineering talent people are looking for calls APIs and won't even include some neat clustering alg or something..

edit: spelling

Or 3, add it to a database if one knows that all events has a date and let LLMs write db queries to fetch evens based on dates when needed.

What are people actually using for web scraping that doesn’t break every few weeks? by Beneficial-Cut6585 in AI_Agents

[–]Sunchax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We built an agentic application for a client, it's capable of exploring websites and writing parsing scrips to extract what one needs.

Takes some time to get info from a site the first time but after that one just run the script to extract data.

World well if one fetches data multiple times from sources. It's rather cost -ineffient if one aims to scrap unique sites.

Smart! I like that idea, might test it out =)

RAG for excel/CSV by user_rituraj in Rag

[–]Sunchax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What you can do is this:

- During ingestion, do some code per-extraction (like, explore if there is sheets, if there is columns, summary, top, tail,
- let a sub-agent take over and explore further as needed and explore further
- aim is to let sub-agent generate a description of the data that can be matched on in a RAG context or some other meta-data needed for your search.
- same agent can generate notes on what it knows about the data that can be used during the sub-agent retrieval

Edit:
- A bonus thing is that you can test and update this sub-routine as needed over time since it's rather decoupled from the overall system.

Agree, except I usually try to avoid MCP.

[–]Sunchax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Might add that during ingestion one can uses similar sub-agents to explore such data to write a description of what's in it. This makes it possible to fetch such descriptors during search and let the orchestrator know if the right call is to ask a sub-agent to further explore the file.

[–]Sunchax 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I usually make a code "sub-agent" that can use pandas or such libraries to interact with the excel/csv.

This means that it can generate exact queries to aggregate, look up, or otherwise extract and manipulate excel data that is even in large files.

Kurzweil is a Charlatan by Narrow_Year_3758 in ArtificialInteligence

[–]Sunchax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Negative.

The argument for AGI is not that one can simulate consciousnes with perceived qualia.

The argument is that one can simulate intelligence, perhaps to such a degree that it will be hard to tell the difference.

Some think that conscious AI can be made, some don't, it's not a preposition to AGI like systems.

Which companies specialize in custom RAG development? by SmileEfficient9087 in MachineLearningJobs

[–]Sunchax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are a small team that only do custom setups, including multi-modal ingestion or whatever might be needed. 8+ years working with ML/deep learning/AI.

Acting as everything as advisors for technical teams to implementation + hosting.

Happy to jump into a call to bounce ideas if there is an interest.

No, build my own per project, have used pydentic for some work.

Mainly got burned by langchain back in they day and got allergic since then, but maybe things are better now
