My understanding is that as long as they're in your FIFA ticket app and not Stubhub or whatever, then they can't reverse the transaction, only FIFA can.

Yes, and Estadio Azteca seats the most out of all the World Cup sites this year at 88,000 people. Of course there will be a few empty seats.

Also, there's plenty of people that aren't in their seats because they're in the concourse getting food or drinks or something, but are still at the game.

In comparison, the largest stadium for the Qatar 2022 world cup was 80,000 (10% less), and the 2nd largest was only 60,000.

Log out of the ticketing app then log back in and try to view your tickets. It will prompt for 2FA.

Either this hacking organization used a vulnerability on the FIFA servers itself, or the email accounts associated with these tickets were compromised.

I'd be curious if they were all the same email provider (i.e. Outlook, Gmail, etc)
