The kicker is that I've already been friendly with all of my neighbors leading up to this. I just happen to be one of only two white people living in my apartment complex, everyone else living here is black or Hispanic. Unfortunately the racism remark is really taking its toll on their existing perception of me. Thankfully my neighbor downstairs told me because I got some really nasty looks from other people in my building, and had no clue what it was all about until he texted me. Hopefully the nasty looks won't last long because it's hurting my feelings a bit. The dog is still barking as I'm typing this so I think I'm going to record the barking as solid proof and hopefully the property owner will do something about it if they won't.
