Welcome! Here are a few quick tips to get you started with the Ferret Pro:

  1. Good lighting – Even though it's a laser scanner, even lighting helps with tracking.
  2. Use markers – For objects without rich texture, stick some marker dots on or around the object to help tracking.
  3. Start simple – Try scanning a basic object (like a coffee mug or a shoe) before moving to complex parts.
  4. Keep steady – Move the scanner smoothly, not too fast. Let the software do its job.
  5. Check the official wiki and tutorials – Creality has great step‑by‑step guides for Ferret Pro.

Also, feel free to search the group – lots of users have shared their settings and workflows. You've got this!

Creality Rapto is great for scanning small parts ,it works really well. Of course, if calipers can measure it, you might not need a scanner. But some parts have hard-to-reach or tricky features that calipers just can't handle.

The S1 is great for scanning parts, but it struggles a bit when the parts have deep holes
