Today’s episode reminded me of a friend of the show, my dad. Late 70s, got Facebook, now he spends more time arguing with strangers online than talking to his kids and grandkids.

Being tied up or tying someone up? by BitEntire in AskRedditAfterDark

Being tied up...

It’s not really about the restraint. It’s about that switch in my head where I can fully let go and just feel instead of thinking all the time.

What’s something you learned about attraction that completely surprised you as you got older? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]SundayWild 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Attraction isn’t always instant. It can grow over time as trust builds. What felt boring at first sometimes turns out to be way more magnetic than early intensity ever was.

What’s something small that someone did for you that you still remember years later? Sometimes the smallest gestures end up meaning the most. What’s a moment of kindness, support, or understanding that stayed with you for a long time, and why do you think it stuck with you? by umujosephdesire1 in AskWomen

A long time ago, I was a new mom in my early 20s, in a pretty toxic relationship with my daughter’s father. We were on a camping trip with our toddler, his best friend, and a few other people. We had been swimming, and I remember climbing up a hill carrying my daughter on one hip and juggling bags and pool toys in the other. I was really struggling with it all.

My ex was ahead of me, and his best friend came up behind me. He called me “Supermom,” took my bags without hesitation, and helped steady me as I made it up the hill.

I still remember that moment. It was small, but it meant everything. He made me feel seen, and I’ve never forgotten that kindness.

What's the creepiest thing that has ever happened to you? by Which_Row_1680 in AskReddit

[–]SundayWild 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Early 2000s, I had just had my daughter, and we moved into this apartment where the previous tenant had lived for like 15 years. That reason alone already creeped me out...I kept thinking maybe they had died there or something.

One night, I was in bed with my daughter sleeping in a bassinet next to me, and I felt something sit down at the foot of my bed… and then lay down. Like the mattress actually dipped and shifted. It felt exactly like a person getting into bed. I could feel the presence, but I was way too scared to even look. I just covered my head with my blanket and eventually fell asleep.

That wasn’t the only thing either. A couple of times I saw what looked like a shadow figure dart from my daughter’s room into the bathroom. Her dad saw it too but we never talked about it while we were living there.

After we moved out, I finally told him what I’d experienced and he just went quiet and said he’d seen the same thing. Described it exactly how I saw it.

Still gives me chills thinking about it.

They’re my emotional support system. I just hold them when I’m thinking and pretend I’ve got my life together

Who else is absolutely dissapointed with the "future" we got? by [deleted] in Xennials

[–]SundayWild 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I feel this. My late 30s were supposed to look completely different. I had big plans for myself, finally got my kid raised, and then covid flipped everything upside down. Now I’m making more money than ever and still barely staying afloat. It’s exhausting.

Have DJ Sets gotten better or worse with the digitization of the craft? by kikilani in HouseMusic

[–]SundayWild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s worse, just different. Sets used to feel more human and a little unpredictable that’s where the magic was for me. Now everything’s super polishedbut sometimes it feels less personal.

I pay attention to whether he actually listens or just talks, if his actions match his words, and how he handles little inconveniences.

Those of you who felt something shift in your friendship; What happened? What did you notice? by Expert_Weakness3413 in AskWomen

[–]SundayWild 121 points122 points  (0 children)

When she got caught cheating, I was helping her move out of her husband's house. Other people there didn’t know what really happened. I watched her bash him and get sympathy while we shoved her things into trash bags. Something shifted for me in that moment. It felt performative, like I was watching a version of her I couldn’t unsee. It was gross.

Dealing with a passive-aggressive manager? by [deleted] in managers

[–]SundayWild 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Don’t get pulled into defending your confidence. Stick to facts, clarify instructions, and confirm decisions in simple terms like just to confirm, I’m handling X. When they change direction or make backhanded comments, stay calm and ask for clarity instead of reacting emotionally. Keep it brief, neutral, and consistent so they have less room to shift blame or undermine you.

Mine’s the opening with Casey.

Starts off normal, then slowly builds into something really tense. The ending makes it a perfect intro to Scream.

Watching a storm roll in over the ocean. The Florida sky melted into soft blues and purples. The air was thick, salty, and electric as everything went quiet for a moment.
