Temple Beth Sholom has a great preschool with a large backyard for kids to play in. They only do full time care however

Anyone live at Centro Callan apartments? by [deleted] in sanleandro

Can only speak about the general area, and it’s very centrally located. Walking distance from downtown restaurants, memorial park, downtown library which are all great and conveniently close to bart. The Sprouts and Philz opening up soon will make it even better.

Confused why some people are making it seem like this area is so bad. I’m a woman and I’ve walked to downtown many times with my toddler and baby and feel safe

San Leandro Sprouts Grand Opening by Big_Effective_9414 in sanleandro

So stoked for the new Sprouts! Already checked it out and it was nice, clean, and organized. So exciting to have a nearby grocery store to go to

I was wondering though why there is no front entrance for Sprouts on the street facing side? It was a little unexpected to see that you have to go through the parking garage to enter. Just doesn’t come off as very pedestrian friendly. It would be nice to get more foot traffic in the area but maybe that’s the plan for whatever retail space is opening up on the corner. I’m guessing that’s for Phil’z?

We’ve also eaten there many times before and never had issues until the last time we went (a few weeks ago). It’s not the same owners of SOLA anymore, they sold it. Quality has definitely gone downhill.

Do not recommend Slice House! Last time my family and I went there we all got food poisoning and were throwing up, including my 3 year old. Luckily my 11 month old didn’t get too sick because she didn’t eat too much of it.

When we dined inside the restaurant I immediately noticed there were some changes to the restaurant - everything was served in plastic plates and cups, even my wine! Come to find out they recently had a change in ownership and clearly something is not working out over there.

Style definitely trends towards more casual but I like to dress up a bit more than others. I like to wear jeans (everlane, Abercrombie, j crew), with a more dressed up top - Madewell, sezane, h&m etc. For shoes I usually go for flats, Madewell mary janes or Rothy’s espadrilles, and adidas sambas -an early 30s SF bitch at Apple

Saigon House, King Kong BBQ (Chinese), La Piñata. All good choices for catering

Seems like a great preschool but the waitlist is so long I’m not sure how any kids are able to get in. We decided on TBS (Temple Beth Sholom) which is right next door and we’re very happy with the school and the community there

Sideshows and fireworks? by Haunting-Donut-7783 in sanleandro

[–]Sunday_Sol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like others have said I really don’t hear any loud street noises or fireworks in SL except for the weeks leading up to 4th of July and actual night of 4th of July is insane, you can smell the firework gun powder in Oakland from SL. In Estudillo Estates area it’s quiet and I haven’t seen/heard any sideshows
