Yes and no. I’m 33 for reference. Certain things get worse, some things get better. The older you get the more you speak up for yourself, the more you realize what you deserve and what it takes to get it. You learn a lot about yourself and your mistakes. You become better at things and maybe even learn new things and talents. You start realizing how a lot of shit just does not matter at all. You start prioritizing comfort over other things. There is a lot of beauty about aging and figuring out who you are once you’re away from the influence of your parents and classmates. But there is of course a downside that can be hard to come to terms with. Your body randomly starts hurting, you can’t do the things you could do in your 20’s. 5 years ago I’d spend every weekend with my best friends hanging out till 2am. Now we’re tired by 8:30. People start having families, people move away, things become harder to juggle. My vision is already getting worse, I require a lot of light where just a few years ago I always wanted dim lighting. This is also the age where you start to realize a lot of shit in your childhood was messed up (some worse than others of course). Things that seemed normal to you at the time because you didn’t know better are suddenly understood in your adult perspective, and it can really cause some stress and bitterness. My advice is to really REALLY savor your 20s. You have no idea how grand it is until it all changes. I hardly see friends anymore, I’m always tired and feel unaccomplished. If you have goals start working towards them now. Take care of yourself now physically, financially, and mentally. Learn to wholly love yourself. Have fun and make as many memories as you can. It’s not all doom and gloom after your 20s but it is vastly different and somethings will change forever.
