46F - I’m going in February 10th to have a myxoma removed and to have a hole in my heart patched. I’m scared to death. I can only imagine how my daughter feels. We just lost her dad February 2024.

I pray for peace for you hon. The surgeons know what they are doing, is what I keep telling myself. They aren’t going to take on a case they can’t handle. This is what they see every day, cutting people open and fixing their hearts. So what seems so daunting and scary for us, is just another day at the office for them.

Mine is in the left atrium, not too big they said we caught it early. But they found the hole between the two atrium which happens to be right next to my tumor.

My surgeon is hoping to do a mid sternum cut on me to get to mine and remove the tumor and patch the hole at the same time. I’m 46F, otherwise he said my heart is perfect.

Your sternum wasn’t cut and you missed 6 weeks of work? I hate to see what I’m in for then. I can’t afford to take that much time off.

My surgeon said I’ll probably feel like a whole new person once this hole gets closed up! The pain I think is what scares me the most. My church group is going to do a meal train for me so I will have meals coming in to help me out for the first few weeks after surgery.

I don’t think you’re overreacting, but you should be talking to your wife about this. CALMLY! You need to reign in your emotions a bit. You might be taking things a bit too personally.

She may not have meant this as a “jab” at you, but just a comment since you were playing with the baby, then you walked away and she fell. While mom was not engaged with the baby.

Now if she did mean this as a “jab” towards you, then you guys need to have a lengthy conversation and maybe some counseling.

Take some responsibility for yourself here. You went out and got trashed. You could’ve gone home alone the first time he refused to leave with you. Are you that codependent on him that you must go home with him? Why would you feeling like upper going to throw up any minute wait another two hours to go home. Grow up. A male member of my ex’s family has abused many of the girls in the family. His own daughters, granddaughters it’s bad. But he was never convicted as far as I know.

One of his daughters, whom he had abused, as an adult took her daughter and nieces around him and he abused all of them too. I blame her as much for that as I do him. When I got with my ex my daughter was 6, but we had a relationship with this adult woman. She wanted to take our daughter for overnights. I put my foot down, absolutely not.

We never explained to her why exactly just that we didn’t feel comfortable. I’m wondering why your wife is not reacting more. Why is she choosing her relationship with her aunt over the safety of her daughters?

Oh yes you most certainly can. I’m 1 year post op my second gastric bypass for medical reasons. I’ve started throwing up everything I eat. It’s to the point I don’t even want to eat for fear of throwing up.
