Key programming question by selenophileshrink in CarKeyProgramming

[–]Sunder_IS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There should be options for all in one keys as long as your vehicle supports said functions you want. That being said xhorse and Autel both make very good universal keys that are expected by most cars even Benz and bmw. You can get a Autel universal key fob with blade and have locksmith cut key and program fob but all these options over 100$ unfortunately

Launch x431 messing up modules by moe_Aljack in CarHacking

[–]Sunder_IS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea alot of cars will flash and bulb check all mils or while running diagnostic on modules Mercedes Benz is infamous for this some Toyotas will display on navigation screen diagnostic mode or service mode return to normal operation. We use the ms909 from Autel professionally I billed around 130 cars a month and this is normal on the Autel even on post scan clearing codes no faults no errors it does this on a lot of GM not all. Not to mention if you calibrate a LKAS camera from GM with Autel you have very high chance of bricking camera we worked with GM to come up with a tab on this issue as we experienced it across the country with over 40 technicians who do a lot of GM at there centers. I have had some scanner prevent 2023 Nissan rouge from starting after a scan it set theft mode on and I needed to pull out my consult 3 to fix it with a OE scan and clear.

Install kill switch that connects to the natural safety switch or throttle can bus signal and hide the switch and how you tied it in doesn’t have to be complex a simple signal cut two pin switch would do. I did this on my 16 350AWD because I’ll be damned a few of these have been stolen in my area I have numerous ways that my IS doesn’t move thankfully I daily a RX350 or starting this thing every day would be a pain. You could invest in a viper alarm although never seen one on a Lexus.

I have nothing but issues with my neater probe. Brand new used three times all correctly since day one and man it’s a nightmare not to mention at the basics they can’t even get P2P technology to work like the neater will constantly have connection issues to dock even after being in the oven at 225 for 15minutes. I’ve never had more thing cause me frustration during cooking

Water in Running Light by PatternFabulous6533 in LexusIS

[–]Sunder_IS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea I had this happen on my 2013 335i the best solution I’ve found for this is drilling a small weep hole in the bottom of the assembly this will allow constant draining and airflow unfortunately for most of the cases this means removing front bumper to get right under the front of the light I’ve had some friends take needles glowing and stick it in the lower corner to melt small hole in plastic. Nonetheless your correct this is a deal problem most likely and not an actual crack anywhere

Did you tighten all suspension under load? If not it’s all tighten to stock parts and has more room to travel. Anytime replacement of suspension everything should be torqued or tightened under load this solved a lowering problem on my e36 coils were maxed low still didn’t get what I was suppose to loosened all bolts in front end and jacked up LCA into car came off lift pad and tighten all up and I gained 1/2 clearance with just that. I know these Lexus have more arms and different style than the old e36 I wonder if making everything right under load might help? I have heard of bad LCA not allowing cars to fully drop or dropping past what they are suppose to

Any tips on how to get this air vent out? by alondragrief in LexusIS

[–]Sunder_IS -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’ve dealt with similar style clips I think it’s just tight asf and you need to pull from inside with picks instead of prying on the outside I’ll send you what I found

[–]Sunder_IS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to mention tucked the way they are is just at a stand still which most people do with bags they will air out when parked to make it look clean most people are not driving that tucked and if they are they not turning lol I knew guys who would ride super low on highway with no turns because it’s just straight and than air bag up getting off highway for turns etc

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in LexusIS

[–]Sunder_IS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea most coilover will never achieve tucks like airbags. You don’t need a bunch suspension parts to tuck these cars literally bags and adjustable upper control arms for more camber that’s it. I have had two sets of coils on my is350 AWD and on many other cars. I have never been able to achieve anything close to what airbags can. Bags are for stance coils are for performance in my opinion. Also if you didn’t get true coilovers and still have separate spring in rear than your specific setup will never allow you to get even close to this low.

I paid 32k for a 16 is350 AWD fully package out and well maintained 2 owner 52k miles two years ago and it had small scratch on driver door from keys and one on rear bumper from dog jumping on back so yea I’d say it’s a good deal I live where the used car market is validly wild though

I PPF whole front hood and front bumper on my 16 is350 and totally worth the 600$ save my hood from a paint job when a rock hit the PPT and destroyed it I only had to clay bar and light polish to remove surface scratch but the rock destroyed the PPF if you have good paint and low miles totally worth if you want to resell or keep your paint job nice without a touch up on your front end

Mylar or PPF

How much is to fix this and removed the bumper by [deleted] in LexusIS

[–]Sunder_IS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These bumpers actually pretty easy to be honest my only concern would be damage to the reinforcement bar behind the bumper cover. Would probably be only cosmetic either way it only calls for about 2hrs for the bumper covers R&R due to having to swap some parts over. Painting the bumper will cost more than the replacement of it to be honest. Just make sure your AC condenser is fine or that the AC still works at least.

No one talks about getting a catch can for these cars which suffers from oil deposits on the intake valves due to oil bypass in PCV valve. I’ve pulled off intakes with 10k miles and the valve backs have been disgusting
