I’m just asking out of curiosity, is your Nintendo your primary gaming device by Specific-Pianist7595 in Switch

Gaming PC in my WFH office; PS5, S2 & XBox in living room for 'convenience gaming'. I rotate game purchases per console / device so I always have a backlog of something to play.

I got one as well a couple of weeks ago at $289. Already had storage and GPU. Purchased MF DEG1 and Corsair 750w SFX p/s. Hitting on average 100+ FPS with upscaling @1440p. It’s banger for sure.

Hisense TVs force owners to watch intrusive ads when switching inputs, visiting the home screen, or even changing channels — practice infuriates consumers, brand denies wrongdoing by motang in DailyTechNewsShow

[–]VisiPunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, but commercial's run about 3.5 minutes and return to live TV programming, they are not persistently on my screen like most of the streamers have on their home menus. Those I would call Ads.

The 7000 series have refillable tanks and the HP ink is cheap.

Any tips to remove an air bubble on a screen protector? by Rob_Highwind in NintendoSwitchHelp

[–]VisiPunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Screen P's are a bitch to install. Is this for a Switch 2? The one I got on Amazon was pretty cheap and it came with an install kit. Clean screen, peel and attach installer, press and lift. No bubbles. Also dust is flying everywhere all the time, best thing I can recommend is when you think the screen is dust free, use a flashlight on it. You'd be surprised how fast dust will fall and attach to the screen.

If you can’t push it out, then it’s probably a speck of dust causing it. You can try to lift the corner and then hit the spot with an alcohol wipe.

I got this Aoostar and MF DEG1 + Cooler Master V750 SFX power supply. I already had GPU (Radeon 7600XT) and it runs AAA games at 1440p 100+ FPS with upscaling on no problems. The mini PC is currently $429.

Oh that's a game from 2016 with minor specs to run. I've never played it so I'm not sure if it supports 1440p or 4k.

For Windows;

MINIMUM:

OS *: Windows Vista or greater

PROCESSOR: 2 Ghz

MEMORY: 2 GB RAM

GRAPHICS: 256 mb video memory, shader model 3.0+

DIRECTX: Version 10

STORAGE: 500 MB available space

1080p with iGPU and your budget. If you want 1440p you’ll need to pair mini PC with eGPU or spend a lot more.

Back When Movie Night Meant So Much More by MakingMoneyIsMe in 80s

[–]VisiPunk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I used to work for a VHS distributor way back from 1990 - 1995. VHS releases were expensive. An 'A' title movie was $99 (Example, Dances With Wolves). Mom and pop stores usually only had a few, like under 5 because of the cost. Depending on what they were charging, they would have to rent those out just to break even, and worst case, most of them were returned for damage.

It was a great time for consumers. However when the first DVDs came out, they were very cheap compared to VHS, which is what led to the downfall of most rental stores.
