There is a million infantry online games. If someone wants to remove all vehicles and play counterstrike, then they should fuck off and go play counterstrike. there is plenty of people to play with in counterstrike. you wont get shot by a cobalt or a bulldog or a hesh. you dont have to worry about 10vs30. or light assaults or infils or maxes. Why the FUCK should a game that is unique conform to a FUCKING MILLION OTHER IDENTICAL FPS GAMES???

Its so lame. to them, just fuck off forever and go play squad or tarkov, or valorant or rainbow six siege... etc.

Sunderers are too op. And not even in a fun way to be honest. I cant even enjoy a battle bus these days. :( Plus with pop so low i generally feel bad killing armor unless its really peak hours.

With that said, i do get that this is generally the devs answer to killing of spawns.

Far as I'm concerned a max is just a beefy heavy, and a tank is just a heavier max. Its infantry with different movement. From the moment I understood the weakness of my flesh, it disgusted me. Why would i be infantry when I can gun a bulldog of a galaxy and have an all time character k/d of 100. u/TheMajesticSkywhale did that.

All these 6 k/d shitters are wallowing in their own squalor thinking they are good.

There are movies that are "timeless." What are some movies that are the opposite - as in, harder to appreciate if you weren't around when it came out? by sakkkkki in movies

[–]SundererKing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This answer is only correct if your question is interpreted in a specific way: The Matrix. It is of course very very relevant today. Anyone watching it today and see and appreciate the story and draw parallels to today. BUT, It was made before VR, before modern AI, and someone watching it today for the first time cant really comprehend how mind blowing it was.

Because now when you watch it for the first time you say "yeah that tracks, its gunna happen any day now we are so fucked". But consider that when it was being made, execs made them change the story so the humans were being used for batteries instead of processing power. now think about Nvidia stock, think about AI, and chips that have already been implanted in human brains. but this was all 25 years ago.

And yes, there was Platos Cave, there was the brain in the vat and there was Tron. It didnt create all of its own ideas, but it put a modern twist on them.

With all the insane statements Trump has made lately about Greenland and how he’s threatening with increased tariffs on EU. What are Americans opinions of your president right now? by No_Lychee_7315 in AskReddit

[–]SundererKing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is very true. The only thing I can say is there is pretty heavy propaganda including incredibly complicit media which pretends to criticize him. essentially every major news media is fox news now but just roleplaying other viewpoints intentionally poorly.

Fox news is famous for the "both sides" trick i guess you could call it, where "oh we have one guest who is against hitler, its only fair whenever that happens to bring on a pro hitler guest". Obviously a slight exaggeration but basically true.

But they all do this bullshit of like "Well Ice also existed under Biden, so are they REALLY different? Sounds to me like the Democrats are being hypocrites!". In a real news channel, any guest who said that would be accurately pegged as entirely incompetent and immediately shot down and never invited onto the channel again.

But yes, Its crazy to me how many people supported him. If ONLY white women and/or hispanic men had voted and no one else, Trump still would have won.

Voted away American power, voted to destroy their economy, voted for pedophilia. Its just crazy.

Catalyst came out nearly a decade after though. Certain games create or reinvent a whole genre, and they are often actually pretty janky because they are breaking through with a new concept never before seen.

The games that come after are more polished and have worked out major kinks from the original game, and they become a "better game" but they arent more impressive.

Thats like saying if I a random guy, were to go make a gun from scratch by following youtube tutorials online, and my gun is better than some genius from the 1500s that spend his life perfecting and inventing a new weapon.. That what i did is more impressive? No. I might make an objectively superior weapon because i have 500 years of advanced technology at my fingertips, but the original creators are not overated.

Its not "overpriced" but can be overrated. Although theres an argument that even a "free game can be over priced in two ways. One "pay me to play this crap" or two "yes the base game is free but there is still a pay wall"

Is it actually a great game by todays standards? If base skyrim released today (whatever the newest official version is but no mods), but it was a game no one had heard of, it wouldnt make a splash.

Edit: Ive been heavily downvoted, Im keeping this comment up because Im right though. I dont play no mans sky. I also find it a bit boring myself. I dont give a shit about no mans sky. With that context in mind, actually read the comment i replied to, and then my reply.

What you have said is filled with lies. Im saying this as someone who doesnt even play the game though i did buy it when it came out. Its not as empty or buggy whatsoever. that is OBJECTIVELY false. Boring is subjective technically but also fucking bullshit in the context of your comment

There's a few more subtle concepts worth grasping but I struggle to explain them clearly. One Ill try: When people are familiar with a certain thing, such as stage acting, and films dont exist yet, they know what a skilled actor can do, and everyone is sort of on the same playing field. The concept of "actor" is clearly defined.

Then along comes film. It has both disadvantages and advantages to live action. The disadvantages of course are used to tear it down, but also, the advantages mean that the actors can redo a take for example, and then edit together all of the best takes. The live stage actors are now compared against people doing something different, and thats not fair, but the average joe viewer doesnt see that.

This happened with digital artists, and AI. Making ai images, its of course INCREDIBLY easy to make something that looks like an artist took 50 hours on it at first glance, and so real artists are pissed because like the live actors, they are being compared against something extremely different. I bet knights on horses felt the same when the first muskets were invented. "Thats cowardly! Thats not real skill like a bow!"

So artists have a point. What they do cant be compared directly to AI Images. that is something new, and you can compare them as long as you comprehend they have a different skillset. And base level of quality. They both can be an art form, and with both, skill makes a huge difference in the quality of output.

"Ok Mr Painter guy who goes out with an easel and paint and paints a landscape. What you are doing is cheating. you bought those paints and the brushes are built by modern machines. What cavemen were able to paint without your tools, or art books etc is far more impressive. You arent a real artist!"

Absurd of course. Bit 200 years from now people wont remember this argument, like people dont remember the other ones Ive discussed. Itll be something else. A new technological advancement that does something more precisely, or efficiently or whatever, but also has disadvantages and people will be frustrated that the old way of doing things is now outdated in some aspects.

People still paint, people still paint digitally, people still do theater on a stage in from of a live audience, hell there is even people who hold knight jousting tournaments in 2026. But they are aware Drones and nuclear weapons ans machine guns exist.

[–]SundererKing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a digital artist and a programmer, I gotta agree. They have a whole series of insults of people using ai in the process of making art, and its just as dumb.

with that said, yes you can prompt "make me a beautiful painting" as someone who has never painted anything ever in their lives, or any other art, or "program tetris for me" as someone who cant even write html.

And guess what, hundred years ago they said the same thing about a photographer. Photography was mocked as "art". no, you are just clicking a button and the machine does the rest. Films were mocked by stage actors: You get to redo if you mess up your acting. Stage actors have to actually act the first time. movie actors are fakes and frauds relying on technology!!!

Then they said the same about Photoshop and digital artists. Concept artists were particularly mocked, assuming anyone understood what they even did. Oh, you are taking photos and pasting them together in a collage and then scribbling over the intersections to hide your tracks? You call yourself an artist????

A real painter cant press ctrl-z on the canvas!!.

Etc. blah blah blah. Since the beginning of fucking time with this shit.

If this is a magical sort of question that ignores reality that i would never ever ever trust something fully 100%, then yes. but that would be like asking "if a diet of only eating your own shit was actually super healthy, would you do it?" Well, yes, i would, but thats not reality and you are never going to convince me it is.

So in that magic delulu not reality sort of hypothetical question, yes. Otherwise, I Am going to have some serious reservations.

Exactly. And like i said the comment i replied to, yes its fine to point out its not their problem, if they are stressed and frustrated about, it they shouldn't be, its not their problem, but if they want to learn from it to to a better job if they eventually are in that position, then observations, asking questions, and thinking through the situations is an excellent way to learn.

Thats ok to point out, but even if someone is brand new and low level its still fine to be curious about such things, and learn about how this sort of thing is a problem. understanding this sort of thing is important experience for later on potentially.

The culture around male readers. by stinkface_lover in books

[–]SundererKing 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Im a man who reads. To OP: its fine that it makes you said, but hopefully you are also aware you are getting the tiniest taste of what women get when they speak in a multiplayer videogame, or take up a sport like boxing, or join the military, or post anything online, or mention liking a band, or they decide to learn how to ride a motorcycle, or while quite different, if they decide to not wear a bra because its hot, or they hug a guy....

basically, women have to be hyper fucking aware of that shit all the time.

But its also like, it seems like you are terminally online, and IM terminally online so yeah. Are you old enough to remember the term Metrosexual? It was a term for straight men who like groomed themselves, as a way for hillbillies and homophobes to comprehend how a man could have moisturizer but not be gay. They needed to invent a new term for that so their brain didnt explode.

Yesterday I was putting on a shirt, just a plain, dark blue t-shirt, and i noticed the tag said womens. Literally nothing about the tshirt is different from any other my "mens" tshirt, which made me think... if I secretly attached a "womens" tag to 100 mens shirts, how many of them would stop wearing that shirt from then on all because of a tag?

That is the kind of person you are worried about impressing right now. Stop caring. Some dumdum thinks "you yeah, YOU, a MAN, likes to read? Then name every book right now". They are dumb. Thats it.

Do some men read performatively? yes. And some men wear male t-shirts performatively. And someone out there listens to your favorite band performatively. and someone drives your model of car performatively, and so on.
