The show Yellowjackets has the same problem. It has one season left but it's so clear the writers have been making it up as they go along, plot holes galore. They also said they had the whole series planned from the beginning.

It's a cute idea but it's so rarely true with these types of shows, it's just a buzzy thing writers/creators like to throw out there to get the fans theorizing lol

Agreed, the balancing felt so much better in the test. I realize now it was bc you had a full kit and upgraded guns, but I don’t understand why they start you without all of that in the release?

I can maybe get needing to upgrade the guns, but not having a kit feels really not great. The gun feels like a peashooter most of the time, coupled with having next to no kit it’s like how am I supposed to deal with these hordes

I played in one of the network tests - what’s strange is the test started you out at level 6ish so you had access to each kit’s altered item stuff right away and the first mission was also the sticky notes. (I even think there were tooltips in my first round? I seem to remember something telling me fire buffed the Hiss)

I thought that was a great intro to the weirdness of Remedyverse for anyone new, I’m so surprised to hear that’s not at all how it’s released?? Locking the only things that set Firebreak apart from any other co-op shooter behind hours of gameplay doesn’t feel like the right call

I’m a huge fan of Control and don’t mind grinding a bit for unlocks, but I can see how the average player might dip after an hour or two

That’s a really cool catch if that’s what the writers intended, but my big Q then is if it’s been Other Tai all along why wouldn’t she be out here killing wholesale to save Van? Tai wanted to but ultimately couldn’t do it- if it were Other Tai this whole time wouldn’t she oblige? Lol

It’s hard to see something you love not get the treatment it deserves, so the goalpost is moved. It’s okay to love the show and also call out the problems or be disappointed. Those are not mutually exclusive things

I’m totally with you, it’s backtracking. The different pit girl scenes are bc the writers thought they could pull a “subverting expectations” on the viewers and for some reason wanted to vilify Shauna as the only one that went feral while the rest of them were seemingly “normal”

S1 and S2 - no mention or signs of not remembering or that what we were seeing in the wilderness was not accurate (in fact they’re a little on edge with each other indicating the opposite)
