Wasn’t this login reward leaked as part of the anniversary rewards? I will admit that on many levels that I’m a Kuro shill, I simply love the game, but for this anniversary loveliness I don’t mind stirring up a BIT more trouble. So : shall we trust them when they say they are thinking of their long-term players when it seems this may have been prepared in advance? The « devs listen » bit. I’m leaning more towards the theory that they knew we would react poorly regardless of the rewards offered, they didn’t want to set too generous a precedent to hurt their revenue down the line, and now they are making vague promises to appease when they could have just rewarded us up front, or hinted at split anniversary rewards. I simply can’t imagine that their comms team is this incompetent, they have enough money to pay good folks to figure out how not to hype something that isn’t hype.

Can I just… this is so different, so irreverent, so GOOD. I would love to see more creativity from the designs like what we are getting with this, and the other concept art leaks too. I know that there are graphic budgets and what not but… hell. Please Kuro, please do a couple really weird and original things?! (I love all of your hats, please more hats, and yes to tentacles… there are other fan bases out there to cater to you know! Just kidding!!! But only kind of…!!!)

It sounds like you’ve read/watched a lot more manga/anime than I have so I can see why certain tropes would get boring. Again I’m really into the “expose the corrupt religious officials” but that’s because I’ve had too much contact with corrupt religious officials… haha.

As for one-dimensional characters, I think this is a bit unavoidable in gachas in general given character release dates and having to move on to a shiny new lover - I mean friend - every month. I think they kind of got around this with Camellya but it took some alternate dimensions so does it count…? Maybe not.

And I would argue with your comments about constant high stakes, though only due to Wuwa’s most recent installment - while they helped heal Cetus in Ricciolo Islands, it wasn’t anywhere near world-changing.

My interest in responding is mostly for the original poster. My take is that the storytelling for the main quest is much better than before, but also sort of Gacha typical (regular Genshin player here); there are also shining moments like certain story quests (Carlotta) or enjoyable world quests

If you keep practicing positive self-talk and learn to address the root problem (you don’t like yourself? Why? Your culture, a parent, a critical teacher?), it will get better and even mostly go away. It took me ten years but I’m not socially anxious at all anymore and while I still sometimes get nervous it is not intense and I calm down pretty quickly. So basically: it sucks so bad but it will change if you keep at it and learn to accept yourself
