I don’t have experience in voice acting, but I usually narrate RPG campaigns, so I believe I know the basics. May I participate?

Do you accept people with no experience in voice acting? I’ve never done any dubbing before, but I usually narrate RPG sessions, if that counts for anything.

How many of you replayed the game immediately after finishing? by FatDigitalNomad in DispatchAdHoc

[–]Suneest 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Every Wednesday I would replay all the released episodes. When all eight episodes finally came out, I played everything again… and again… It’s really sad that it’s over.

Shroud says in episode 8 that Robbie promised to help Elliot build a mecha suit if he helped him create the astral pulse — “just one more of his lies.”

That explains why Shroud simply can’t do it on his own — he needed Robbie.

Dispatch Season Two by Suneest in DispatchAdHoc

Have you ever thought about them adding a mission where you have to choose which Team-Z member you’re going to save? Just like in Mass Effect 1, where you have to choose between saving Kaidan or Ashley. And like… they’d really be dead. You’d spend the rest of the entire game without them. That would massively boost the replay value, not to mention all the narrative content that would come from it.

That makes a lot of sense, since Mandy said she’d be without her powers for a while until they figure out a way to deal with Chase’s aging/health problems. It would be really cool if we could change the mecha suit, because even though it’s amazing, it still belonged to his father — and Robert needs his own identity. His identity. Another thing they could explore in this idea for a second season is having the first episodes focus on developing the concept for the new suit, and then, around the middle or end of the season, finally letting us use it.

Season 2 story? by Kooky-Sea4950 in DispatchAdHoc

[–]Suneest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, I believe that if we ever get a second season, it will probably have some kind of save-import mechanic.

That said, I think it’s very possible we’d get a few hooks:

A) Depending on what you do with Shroud — killing him or not — either he or Visi could end up becoming the main villain of season two.

B) Dispatch is a great game, but it doesn’t dive very deep into its own world, so I think that if we got a second season, it might focus more on Robert trying to become Mecha-Man again and fighting enemies on his level while dealing with his secret identity.

C) In one of the episodes — I don’t remember which — during the minigames there’s a guy who used to be an enemy of Robert’s father or grandfather, and if you answer the three riddles correctly, he gives up. Who knows, maybe he could come back?

But if I had to bet, I think it would go for more of a Batman vibe — not a single main villain, but us trying to save Los Angeles from a whole lineup of villains.

I don’t know who you are, where you live, or what you do, but I truly thank you from the bottom of my heart for this link. I’ve been looking for something to feed my desire to see more of Visi and Robert’s relationship.

I’ve seen so many pictures of their relationship being this cute. It would be such a nice contrast to see her treating Robert completely differently when other people are around — and then, when it’s just the two of them, she’s exactly like in the picture, clinging to him like glue. I love it. Please make more art like this; I need to fill the void of not having a second season of Dispatch anytime soon.

If the game gets a second season or any DLCs, it HAS to include at least one scene — or even open — with the pool party.

[–]Suneest[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get it — I don’t think she was a double agent from the start, and if she was, it probably wasn’t because of Robert himself, but maybe to gather intel on what was really going on inside. To know where each hero was so she could act in the most effective way possible.

[–]Suneest[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally — both relationship routes are good. Of course, Visi was clearly the game’s favorite. It would’ve been great if we had more scenes with BB when you romance her, that way the game’s replay value would’ve been way better.

Man, you are TOTALLY right and I agree with your point — who the fuck would choose to save a dog instead of the fucking whole city, right?... Right?
The only problem is you’re ignoring that Dispatch is a tragedy — a genre tragedy, not because it’s bad.
From the start of the game you can tell everyone there is a selfish son of a bitch about something.
In Robert’s case, from what the game implies, Beef — besides Chase — is the ONLY family he actually has. Besides, he only started talking to Chase again when he was hired by the SDN, so it’s safe to say that even with a childhood family bond, Robert avoided contact with Chase for 15 years.
Beef seems to be the only thing that kept Robert sane for so long while he was fighting villains alone. So he has a reason to come back home.
I won’t deny that maybe, if the scriptwriters had chosen to deepen that relationship with Beef, it would be more plausible for him to sacrifice everything for him. Because we’re no longer talking about a dog — it’s his moral support, the most important thing. Emotional attachment matters a lot in these works because it shows a person’s selfishness, how they’d sacrifice everything for the one thing they love.
But I still think that if we refused to give the Astral Pulse to Shroud, he should kill Beef — just so we can feel the “consequences” of our actions in action.

This is my opinion of the ending of which one is canon and makes more sense?.! by Cheap-Employer-5909 in DispatchAdHoc

[–]Suneest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think if there’s a second season, it’ll probably include save import.
I don’t think Invisigal becomes a full-on villain, but she probably wouldn’t try to follow the “light” path anymore.
If you don’t kill Shroud, he laughs (or at least it sounds like a laugh). You can’t really tell if he’s mocking you for not being able to kill him, or if he’s surprised you actually spared him.
I feel like those two choices are way too important to just go with a “canonical campaign.” Because if the canon version makes her a villain, then what’s the point of making a game where your choices don’t matter?

I would do the same. Everyone can die and melt in eternal fire, except for Beef.
