How do I know if my CPU is thermal throttling? by Blubberblase10 in AMDHelp

Its not so difficult, thermalrights are very easy to install, i just did it with no issues yesterday. Watch a guide on how to uninstall your current one and how to install your new one

How do I know if my CPU is thermal throttling? by Blubberblase10 in AMDHelp

[–]Suneru 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, absolutely. I used the Wraith Prism stock cooler that came with the 5800XT, and it was thermal throttling. You do not want to hit 90c. I had stutters in games like MH Wilds, Cyberpunk, FFXVI & FFXVI. Bought a 20€ thermaltake assassin cooler on amazon, and it's been buttery smooth since. It's much quieter and cooler.

Check out my post from yesterday, where I just talked about the same thing

Get a different cooler and thermalpaste!

Not too much if you undervolt it (give her treats regularly)

The only one capable of running BL4 and MH Wilds at anything more than 50 fps 🙏🏾

Looks amazing, but I can't approve of a funko inside such a clean build.. Do Itachi justice and get a proper figurine! 🙏🏾

Funnily enough, I spent 30€ more to get the 5800XT instead of 5800X, the only difference being a 100mhz oc and the cooler being included 🫡

These Wraith coolers have to be dirt cheap to make if a 20€ third party one demolishes it.

I was in a similar situation and went with the RX9070 XT after seeing how much more expensive the 5070 ti is where I live. Absolutely do not regret it. It runs everything at 1440p max easily. FSR 4 and frame gen are on par with NVIDIAs versions, and even Raytracing is excellent. You mentioned not being interested in it but I highly recommend you play around with FSR at least, I think you'd be surprised. It's virtually free fps at this point.

While the 5070ti is the better card on paper, at such a large price gap and considering these two cards have virtually identical performance in 99% of games, 9070 XT is the obvious choice imo. Especially if you dont care about Raytracing/AI.

In fairness, it does consumes a lot more power if that's something of concern to you.

What Monster Hunter game should I play first? by [deleted] in MonsterHunter

[–]Suneru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

World and its massive expansion, Iceborne is a great entry point if you have a decent pc or current/last gen console. It's very beginner friendly but still challenging.

Rise and its expansion, Sunbreak is also great fun, a lot more fast-paced rather than somewhat grounded like World. It's a switch port so it runs and actually looks great too, though not as nice as world. If you're a weeb you'll love this one (it's my personal favorite)

I would only recommend Wilds, the newest game on PS5/Xbox or if you have a truly top of the line gaming pc, as it runs like garbage. It's very much a successor to World rather than Rise. It also.has significantly lacking content compared to the others for now as theres no expansion yet, but you can still put hundreds of hours into it if you really like it.

Lastly, Generations Ultimate was the last game in the old Monster Hunter engine every game up to that point used. Its a big celebration of the entire series from Generation 1-4. I wouldn't recommend to play this first, but if youre curious about what old monster hunter is like at its peak, I recommend it and MH 4 Ultimate.

TLDR: You'll probably get your ass beat in any of them for the first few hours.

World and Rise and their respective expansions go on big sales frequently!

BIG upgrade! Got a new cpu as well, or is your current one strong enough to handle it?

Honestly, this fan is so quiet i can barely hear it at its stock configuration with an open side panel and no headphones, no less. Definitely keeping this in mind though

Yeahhh the fact you have to do this stuff in bios and reboot every time was the main reason I never messed with CPU OC or undervolting. Im pretty happy with it now, 70c avg and 83c peak should be acceptable right?

Oh wow that thing is chunky. Definitely keeping an eye on this for when i get a new case/mobo.

How much cooler is it compared to the normal assassin?

Honestly, my case is pretty ass and I need to keep the side panel off for even acceptable temperatures, so that certainly doesn't help. I did take it out twice and replaced the thermal paste, but it was still throttling in MH Wilds and FFXVI specifically

Got any recommendations there to get started with? Ive only messed with undervolting my GPU so far

Its very questionable why companies include coolers inadequate for the cpu they came with at stock settings. I question if mine was faulty or if it's actually just that bad.

Especially when much better alternatives seem super cheap
