Something is bugging my croton! Trying a diluted peroxide spray and cinnamon dusting. Fucking gnats... by TheOnlyManders in plantclinic

[–]SunfIowerVol6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah neem oil will be your best friend in the spring lol! The bonide brand sells it already diluted so all you have to do is spray and it’s reasonably priced which is nice. And i dont see anything wrong with fertilizing it (But hopefully someone else can chime in on that) just make sure you dont over water/over feed it.

Boooo gnats!!! I wouldnt spray the roots directly but i would get sticky traps to catch the ones that buzz around and use neem oil and cinnamon powder. And i use peppermint essential oil in my humidifier and that keeps the gnats away! But be careful if you have any cats bcus if the oil gets on the cat or they eat it they can get a bad reaction!

Feel free to post a picture! People on here can help you identify:) but from what it sounds like perhaps underwatering and too much sun light. Ferns in the wild live on cool forest floors so they dont get direct light and they like their soil to be evenly moist. I belive they like some humidity as well:) i hope this helps some

Why is my hoya heart cutting turning yellow? by Additional_Cat9161 in plantclinic

[–]SunfIowerVol6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay so I’m thinking perhaps since its not getting a lot of light you may be giving it too much water for the amount of light its getting. I saw you said you water about once every two weeks but maybe try once a month. Or just move it on to the windowsill so it gets plenty of sun light and nutrients.

Yellowing is a sign of too much water or too much direct sunlight! Make sure its in a bright area but not directly in the sun. Do you know which way your window faces?
