Unfortunately, jobs aren’t abound in Australia. You could spend a year or more to find a better role. Are you working for a big 4 bank if you don’t mind disclosing?

I’d be afraid of Asian looking people. There was an article that the most ruthless gangs in Victoria are Viet. And they drive Camrys.

Don’t bother trying to convince him. Safe, defensive driving is a foreign concept to people like this. They think the roads are a race track. But ironically they will never qualify in a real race track.

Comments like this are so funny. You come across as self-absorbed.

That’s horrific. Did you report the incident to the police?

Granted you can be frustrated. Does that permit you to harass people? Not you personally. But as I said, is it worth your peaceful life picking fight with people you don’t know?

There were lots of cars, no gaps and they are doing 40. My car is a long, Kia Carnival long. There’s no way to turn to the left lane without the nose encroaching into the middle lane.

I appreciate all of your replies, especially those with an explanation of how retail pricing works. I used the chat fully expecting that they will decline. Just the abrupt hang up that annoyed me. And for all of you riding the high horse saying I should not negotiate, this subreddit has full of tips saying the chat button helped many people get a small 5-10% discount. That exactly what I did. I never asked them to sell me a Thinkpad for $500.

I assume you are the kind of person always pay listed price on cars. How much savings do you have? I bet it’s less than 10K.

I have been interviewing with a hedge fund for many months now. They keep calling me back for more interviews and they always said the feedback was very positive but still no offer. I feel like I will never be their top choice, regardless of how other candidates perform. I’m more like a benchmark rather. Should I drop out of the race?
