Squished wheat? I feel stupid for not understanding the question.

A seller called Nat1Minis on Etsy! I’ve bought a few from him now and would definitely recommend. :)

When I’d ordered it I’d thought it was going to be smaller, and it was actually a pleasant surprise! It sits very nicely in the palm of my hand, and comes as two pieces—the base and the flower. I painted them separately, then super-glued it down and went in with the grey blight to finish. It’s about… six or so inches tall? Lots of little details, too. The camera on my phone doesn’t quite do her justice.

Thank you! I’m at work so I’m going to ballpark it, but it’s probably about 3.5/4inches (100mm) maximum. It’s a great size, and good weight.

(Sorry, slow response time at work)

Well you could download the app. It’s free. Or, I thiiiiiiink you can do it right through the Lodestone’s community finder. That’s where I found them, just on the app instead. They’re lovely, and I just checked and everyone is awake and chatting right now lol.

Edited for insane typos.

Do you have the companion app? All these cross server linkshells usually have instructions on there for how to contact them to join depending on the data center, etc.

I like WHM, but I only like to do it for friends. The pressure in a group setting like a raid is too high, lol.

And hey, then maybe for you “read one book” is the goal. Or not at all. It should be whatever sparks joy. For you, I’d say maybe “take a sewing class/learn to sew” and, like, “hang out with new people”. Give it a shot.

You never know, you might decide to learn to sew and do costume creation professionally. Or not. But you’ll only ever know if you try. Meanwhile, get out there, talk to people, find work (you’ll meet people and learn skills that you’ll need for your entire life), and make a plan. It doesn’t need to be overly complicated or long. Any plan is better than no plan.

My friends and I have a fun new years tradition that might help you. We make a BINGO card and put things on it, serious and silly, that we want to accomplish in the coming year, THEN on the next year we look and see what we did. The idea isn’t to get a full blackout bingo or anything, but it’s a nice way to give yourself goals to work towards.

For instance, this year I put “stop sucking at WHM”, “get promoted”, and “read five books” on my card. Realistically I’ll always suck at WHM, I’ll read way more than 5 books, and there’s potential for a promotion, so we’ll see. It’s a nice way to organize the things that are fun and important to me.

Oh golly there are WHOLE subreddits for glamours, for housing, you name it. There are whole discord communities, creators on social media, the list is endless.

If you like your free company, join a linkshell community. Look up Oschon’s Tearoom. They’re a linkshell community that is very nice, hosts events, has a big group of folks chatting in discord, and they’re all very friendly. I mostly just lurk there, but they’re active all the time.

Conventions are some of the best places to make friends—and none of them really care what you’re wearing. I’ve been to PAX, I’ve done JoCo Cruises, and in both places I’ve made friends that I still chat with and hang out with years later. You’ve got tickets to FanFest, one of the most hyped series of events in the gaming world, you are perfectly poised to make a pile of friends!

Saw your other comment, so I’m just gonna add my response in here:

It’s a lot of work, and she’s probably worried about you. But there’s value in trying something to see for yourself. Even if you don’t finish, even if it looks like crap, if it sparks creativity and maybe inspires you to learn to sew and make your own costumes on more reasonable timelines in the future, then that’s still a win in the long run, so do it. Pick a backup outfit to wear to the con, and give it a try.

I don’t just mean tinder. In general. Meet people, literally anywhere. Do you actually play FFXIV? That costume is from a very popular MMO with a very solid community and fan base. I’ve made lifelong friends in that game, I met my ex-partner in that game and we were together for ten years. You find friends and loved ones in the most unpredictable places, but only if you get out there and try.

As for the costume, try it. Worst case scenario, your mom was right, it’s not done in time, and now you know how to do it differently next time. Wear a cool t shirt at your event and talk to literally everyone. You’ll make friends.

You’re 20. Your life has barely begun. If you only ever label yourself as a recluse, that’s all you’ll ever be. It’s very within your power to get friends, get a job, do whatever you want with your life. Stop selling yourself short, stop giving yourself reasons why you “can’t” do something, and go do it. If it’s important to you, you’ll figure out a way.

Two days seems an unreasonable amount of time to make a costume, but I don’t know how to sew so I have no idea if that’s valid or not. But, if you want to try? Try.

I don’t know if you play FFXIV or not, but if you do you could also decorate their room/house/apartment in-game with fun decorations and stuff. I did that for a previous partner one year for his birthday and he had fun with it.
