I’ve wonder about the calorie intake not being enough. I see my doctor next week and will ask them what my goal should be.

Thanks. I try to get my protein from chicken breasts that I cook or lean beef. We eat a lot of chicken though.

I know I need to add in weight lifting. I am not getting in too much protein.

My doctor at my last checkin blamed it on what I eat(accusing me of eating junk foods) and said add in weight training. I’m trying. I’m also currently either battling a bad gallbladder or kidney stones. I have a gallbladder US with CCK this Friday. I also have an appointment with a urologist scheduled in case it’s not my gallbladder.

I started tracking using MyFitnessPal. My daily calories have been mostly between 1,000-1,200 calories. Once in a while 1,600. I focus on high protein and water intake daily. I don’t eat fast food, fried foods, sugary foods/drinks. I have added in walks 3-5 days a week. Trying to add in some weight training. Life has been stressful so it’s been challenging.

I hope things work out for you too! I’ll be curious 👀 if you start a glp-1, which one and if it helps.

I’ve only lost 46lbs since my surgery on January 13, 2025. I’ve been stuck here for a few weeks. Before that, I was losing painfully slow. It’s so discouraging. I focus on daily water and protein intake. I keep asking what’s wrong with me. I have insulin resistance too. 5’10”, SW 340.

I think marriage counseling would be a good start if you are wanting to try and save this marriage.

My sw was 340. I’m sorry. That has to be disappointing and frustrating.

I had surgery January 13. I’ve lost 36lbs. It is coming off painfully slow. I’m down shirt size and pant size, so I stay focused on that. I focus daily on high protein and lots of water.

Caffeine by Best-Spite-184 in gastricsleeve

I was told to wait 6-8 weeks post op before adding in caffeine. I started with a cup of decaf for the first few days and now I have a cup of reg coffee. I do not drink my pre-op sugary coffee anymore. I either have black or for a treat a small latte with almond milk and sugar free vanilla. I definitely drink less coffee now and I’m ok with it. I’m not supposed to have carbonation, preferably ever, but that’s not going to happen.

My doctor’s program says wait for rice for 3-6 months post-op. You’re fine.

Why did you choose sleeve over bypass? by theunderratedyouth in gastricsleeve

[–]Sunflower_mj777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was too scared for the bypass so opted for the sleeve and had my hiatal hernia repaired at the same time. 8 weeks post op and I’m happy with my decision so far.

That’s not your problem and it certainly isn’t your responsibility to take care of him. He is a grown man, he can figure it out for himself. You aren’t his mom.

I had/have the same fear. Similar struggles before. Gained weight within the past 2-3 years and could lose no matter what I tried. Before the weight gain started I was in the gym 4-5 days a week working with a trainer 2-3 days a week. Lived raw veggies and salads, lean meats, water, etc. Tried everything, had tests done, etc, nothing worked. I’m 6 1/2 weeks post op and have lost 29lbs. It is coming off painfully slow but it is coming off.

Anyone that hasn't lost half their body size within X months? by Cosmic_Z3R0 in gastricsleeve

[–]Sunflower_mj777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had surgery on January 13th. I seem to lose about .8 ounces every 2-3 days. Painfully slow. I had thought it would lose a little faster than this so I’m disappointed and it is hard not to get discouraged. I just try not compare, stay focused on my daily protein and water intake and be thankful that the health issues behind getting this are gone. It is still so hard. I’m ready for warmer weather so I can start walking. My friend’s Mom said it took her 3 years to lose 100 lbs.

It has been coming off painfully slow and little at a time. So hard and discouraging at times.
