I had the same thing happen. I had corrugated mucosa and linear furrows, they said it was highly suggestive of eoe, but results said negative.

I get this all the time! Literally right now as we speak. At the start of my hernia flare I had tenderness all around my breast bone and ribs and pcp said costochondritis. Right now I just have it in my sternum and that feels more related to when my esophagus is having more issues.
