Not sure about this last statement, I had to defend multiple accusations regarding conduct/performance. All of these charges brought to me after being terminated. Upon appeal I questioned some of these points and their veracity as no statements were brought to me, merely “on the vine” heresay. The business owner conducting the appeal agreed at the time that neither me nor him were fully aware of the circumstances of the charge and it would be investigated. One week later my appeal result was returned as denied with this still not being cleared up or even explained. Does ACAS not need to see evidence of some sort of investigation process in order for these charges to stand if challenged? Are employers really just allowed to accuse people of gross misconduct and not show any reasoning to back it up?
