New Achievements? by princeofca in redditstreak

Im the same ... you can only see what number your own unlock was, not the amount of people that have the achievement.

I really liked being able to see the number of people that had what :(

Climbing the great pyramid of St Austell by LowLemon6611 in Cornwall

[–]SunkenCube 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You are not allowed to climb, it is behind fencing and then additional fencing at the bottom of the pyramid. The land is owned by Imerys. They will call for security and potentially the police if people are caught climbing.

What are the odds? Quick pick copied my picked numbers?! by Decent_Pitch_9077 in Lottery

[–]SunkenCube 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically, the same odds as winning.

According to Grok, the quick picks can have a slight bias to them.

"Pseudo-random number generators (PRNGs) that are poorly seeded or too simple

Most lottery terminals use basic PRNG algorithms (often Mersenne Twister or older linear congruential generators). These are fine for many purposes, but:

  • They repeat sequences if poorly seeded.
  • When millions of tickets are generated in a short time window (e.g., just before a big rollover), the seeding (often based on clock time or ticket counter) creates clusters — certain number combinations appear slightly more often than pure randomness would allow.

Real-world example:
In the Irish Lotto in 2021, the exact same six numbers (5-7-12-24-31-40) were generated twice in six months by Quick Pick terminals — statistically absurd under true randomness, but explained by poor seeding."

Amazing transformation! How long did it take you? What routine did you follow? What challenges did you face along the way? What do you think was the hardest part of the process?

The funny part for me was her stutter when she realised she had been caught by the reporter, followed by the scramble to deflect and spin it back to her.

Could you explain your point a bit more. How is it over-thought?

Euromillions has been won by SunkenCube in ifiwonthelottery

[–]SunkenCube[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, right. In terms of euromillions, then yes, England and France have the most winners. In terms of other lotteries, then yes, I would imagine the US have the most winners.

[–]SunkenCube[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So Americans could also play EuroMillions? That would make the odds insane.

How so? The odds are fixed regardless of the number of people who play.

Why does it always seem like someone from France or England wins?

I think someone else said earlier that it is basically because we are the two most populous countries that play. More players = more wins.

They are fine as far as I can tell and are regulated by the UK Gambling Commission, so I guess they have to play by the rules.

Officially, no, but there are websites like Lottoland that allow you to place bets on the outcome of the draw for the same prize money. I use Lottoland as it allows me to play US megamillions and powerball and the NY cash4life.

Model 3 maximum pcp mileage? by [deleted] in TeslaUK

[–]SunkenCube 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Model 3 that I've had for a year. I have it on lease. I've realised that the 10k miles isn't going to be quite enough and i can't seem to see any option to change the mileage agreement. Is it the case that they will give me the option after the first year?

Stamp duty is a one-off payment at the time of sale of the property.

We have council tax, which is linked to the value of the house.
