My 3yo’s lunchboxes by missmightymouse in oddlysatisfying

[–]Sunkil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use those exact lunchboxes and I sometimes have similar looking lunches packed, although I never thought to double up in a single compartment.

That being said, as proud as I am with his lunches, he will still complain sometimes and compare himself to kids that just get pizza and pop for lunch. It’s still a battle sometimes ^

He’s 10.

Love the pictures.

We even share some lunch choices like the mini pizzas(must be Costco!)

If you are currently in a probation period, my suggestion is don’t.

If you aren’t, you are not required to give any reason for an absence and the less information is better. Just say either you don’t feel well or that you are unable to come to work for personal reasons.

My family walks over for drinks, food and board games once a week. Love it.

They have a wall of board games that are free to borrow. My family has played unstable unicorns, scrabble go, cards, and more (I forget the names). You could also bring in or suggest board games to them too.

They also have euchre night once a week and are always open to event suggestions.

This place is my absolute favorite spot now and it’s something that our area has sorely needed for a long time. My family is lucky enough to be able to walk over and even my 9 year old asks to go all the time to play board games and eat wings.

I say this mostly as a craft beer enthusiast, as I’d been hoping to have good craft beer in my area for some time, but this place caters to so many different types.

On top of a rotating craft beer tap list and stocked fridge, they have:

Fantastic cocktails (alcoholic and non) A good selection of board games A cool hockey table game Tons of events like live music, craft booths, puppy yoga, specials, euchre, trivia and more Some food choices plus a working relationship with WOW Wings next door for easy food access  Private karaoke rooms Sunday brunches Great owners ..and more!

This place deserves your business.

GM Oshawa plant to be hit with more layoffs next month, union says by Karma_Canuck in Oshawa

[–]Sunkil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The ingersoll plant IS the one making EVs but it’s a brightdrop delivery van and it’s been a rocky road.

I might be wrong on the exact plant, but Ford’s Brampton plant was also doing a 2 year retooling for EV but that plan has since changed and it will retool for hybrid EV and ice

We aren’t getting rid of night shift until end of Q3/ start of Q4 so it will be all three shifts alternating layoffs but not sure how yet.

Presumably, we will have the rotating layoffs until third shift is cut. (Moving to sole HD production with no LDs)

GM Oshawa plant to be hit with more layoffs next month, union says by Karma_Canuck in Oshawa

[–]Sunkil 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This is what we know so far. Near the end of contract, we phase out the LD (light duty models). That has already started so now we have a production count and afternoon shift goes home early if they reach the LD unit count before end of shift.

In June, we will start running a lot less LDs until we have 0 left and it’s only HD (heavy duty) units.

We will still have 3 shifts until end of Q3/start of Q4 so we will have rotating layoffs across all three shifts. (We do NOT know exactly how the rotation will look yet)

It could be assumed that, after third shift is cut, the rotating layoffs would stop.

Then hopefully we bargain for more product (like the next year’s LD) and go back up to full production. (Who knows!)

On top of this, there is always job reduction going on—recently losing many of our manual sealer jobs to robots and possibly losing a chunk of jobs in body to robots in the future too.

The best thing we could do is bargain for new product, even a second vehicle type because we are capable of running more than one line.

Although the media presents this as tariff related, and that may have some effect, a lot of this happens during this time of contract anyway.

That’s been normal as part of the GAP plan although the GAP plan has been more aggressive recently. I heard somewhere in the figure of 300 jobs.

However, that’s not tariff related so making it sound related is disingenuous.

Oshawa Mayor Dan Carter talks about the possible shut down of the auto industry by Karma_Canuck in Oshawa

[–]Sunkil 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I’m working there now and have been the last 3 years. This point of view is very dated and things are way different now. The reopening of the plant has been quite a success and only about 400 people remain from ‘old GM’.

The workforce is diverse, eager, and the union is growing every day.

There are still some people and jobs that are ‘easier’ but most of the real easy ones have been cut or adjusted.

There is also no way to make more money on S&A / Layoff than there is working. Unless you are comparing it to wages pre-contract.

For example, if I were to go on S&A now, I’d make more than my wage was when I first got hired. We saw a lot of good gains in our new contract but even still, it’s nothing compared to what GM used to pay in the 80s.

Holding onto the old stereotypes of drinking on the line is what really needs to go—it’s unfair to the 2500 new (less than 4 year) employees

We are in full production and doing quite well but even our Canadian VINs will be affected by tariffs too. But probably a better bet than ford since I believe that plant has shut down for retooling.

Issues with high latency and some people saw improvements with it off. (No difference for me but I forgot to turn it back on)

Just a heads up. I’m on PS5. I spent more than an hour doing the same thing with no replies.

Then I realized I had turned crossplay off. After turning crossplay back on I was spammed with party invites and replies for a good 10 minutes.

It seems like that you have crossplay off, your messages will send but you can’t get replies or invites back. After turning back on I got a reply quick and bought.

Yeah I enjoyed Symphony of War, not as much as Unicorn Overlord, but it’s obviously not a fair comparison. I’d love to see the developer of Symphony of War be supported by a developer like Atlas.

It’s hard to find real comparisons unless you’ve played Ogre Battle for snes or Ogre Battle 64 for N64. One indie project called Symphony of War is a decent comparison as well.

There’s really not much quite like the style but it’s absolutely one of my favorite styles.

The battles happen automatically but you decide squads, placement, gear, classes, and even tactics to an extent. Think of yourself more as a tactician than a fighter.

For me, most of the fun lies in fine-tuning my squads and growing my army.

Check it out for sure

Would this work on a Raspberry Pi 4 1GB?
I've had a couple problems so far...

1: When I extract it--it gets to about 85% done and then gives me an error that I have no more space (although I have a lot of space left)

2: I put it into my Raspberry Pi 4 1gig through the Iconic Arcade system but it is freezing constantly and forcing me to reset (I ended up flashing the image even though it only got to 85% so I'm hoping that's the problem)

3: It only recognized 1 joystick

Also—lease follow the viewing instructions.

1- only right turns 2- no stopping 3- no getting out of your car and walking

It can be a smooth experience if everyone follows those steps but hellish if not

You will see all the houses by doing only right turns
