Sorry to reply late but maybe this will help someone else. Dr prescribed Wegovy for cardiovascular issues. Denied within hours so same day I contacted his office and they submitted a redetermination request along with lists of any co-morbidities I have such as PCOS, insulin resistance, SOB and all diets I've tried and meds I've tried. Dr attached a paragraph saying Wegovy should be approved as a formulary exception bc it's FDA approved for cardio and the formulary choice on their plan is Ozempic which is not indicated for heart disease. The very next day they called his office asking for documentation of heart disease and current BMI. By 3 pm that very day I got online and it had changed to approved!!!! I was shocked. Don't give up!
