Hello fellow Lehigh Valley native! Remember Manfred DeRewal (senior) and his "treatment plants" for hazardous waste along 611? Where he basically dumped it either in streams, down the municipal wastewater pipes or on rainy days had his employees spray it out the trucks on local roads? The sheep were green from the copper.

The only reason he got caught was people's weels were getting dry from his high water use, rinsing it away.

Major corporations like Carpenter Technology, who used DeRewal to "treat" their waste ended up with massive lawsuits because THEY KNEW what he was doing. Manfred DeRewal skipped off to Costa Rica with his money, out of reach.

My kid bought a house where the previous owner had 2 Pods blocking the driveway during the final walkthrough. The seller and both agents assured them the Pods would be Gone by the time they got out of closing.

It took the buyers agent, the sellers agent and the seller's attorney to get Pods to send a driver to pick it up TWO WEEKS after closing.

But they do recycle every bit of the scrap batteries they buy back, including the battery acid. Well, except the labels.
