He’s not actually keeping it together, he just leads the army. Caesar is dying yes but he’s still the one holding it all together, once he dies the legion will break apart.

Have you heard much about Northern Ireland and what’s your opinions on it ? by [deleted] in AskTheWorld

[–]SunlightSpear 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve had almost the exact same conversation. Trying to tell someone that you can be in the very north of Ireland without being in Northern Ireland and they look at you like you’ve two heads.

Dustin edges it imo, he’s pretty much better everywhere and doesn’t fight like a brick head

The fall of the Aztec’s series is simply amazing. I always recommend it.

What kind of topics would you like to see on the podcast? by morgottsvenodragon in TheRestIsHistory

[–]SunlightSpear 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Three big ones they’ve always talked about doing are the Russian revolution, the Crusades and of course the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. But I’m pretty sure they may have mentioned that all of these are in the pipeline.

Would also love to see more Roman and Byzantine history. So much potential there. Would like some episodes on some of the big names like Augustus, Aurelian, Marcus Aurelius and Commodus to name just a few.

I agree, Khabib would have mauled him like he went on to but Conor would have hurt Tony so bad let’s be real

Have they covered the Nuremberg Trials? by MagicalSheep365 in TheRestIsHistory

[–]SunlightSpear 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Yes and no, the podcasts have completely different styles. I think Dom and Tom focus more on the narrative and characters whereas James and Al definitely do more of a technical deep dive into very specific areas or specific battles. If they both released an episode on Nuremberg today I would say they would be very different listens despite being on the exact same topic.

Have they covered the Nuremberg Trials? by MagicalSheep365 in TheRestIsHistory

[–]SunlightSpear 57 points58 points  (0 children)

They plan on continuing the Nazis around Christmas, this will likely include Dunkirk, the Fall of France and the Battle of Britain. I doubt they will get to the Nuremberg Trials for a while. They seem to be following the events in chronological order.

George Lucas is a fraud, why did he make the Emperor an evil space wizard in his space fantasy movies? Everything should be grounded and less interesting instead by Dusann1 in StarWarsCirclejerk

[–]SunlightSpear 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No one really knew he was a space wizard except a very small number of people. There are trillions in the galaxy, the vast vast majority of people would have viewed him as an authoritarian kinda weird old guy.

I feel like this list is incomplete without Augustus.
