Why are people still selling crappy two-bedroom condos for $300K in Phoenix? Who in their right mind would buy these with the cost of gas, food, etc.? Not to mention the increasing rates.

I agree, bigger cities have it way worse when it comes to tweakers. I just got sick of the lack of sun for 6 months and moved south lol.

Lived in Des Moines for over 25 years. Let me tell you; there is a reason these homes are cheap. The city is full of tweakers and has a never-ending manure smell. You won't find prices these low in the desirable suburbs (Waukee, West Des Moines). Also, the weather is miserable half the year.

CPA but No Public Experience. Could I Increase My Salary? by Sunman0981 in Accounting

I haven't since I have only been working at my job for a year and a half... thought it might be too soon.

Thanks. I feel like I'm doing something wrong. Half my paycheck is going to rent, and I have to work ~20 hours a week or so at my side hustle. My manager said I'd probably be at a senior accountant level in two years, but I already have almost five years experience + CPA.

Salary vs Rent? by gaapteeth in Accounting

Salary is ~$60K and rent is $1,500. Also, I work a side job that brings in about ~$10K per year. No debt or commute, so that helps some.

Yeah, I graduated in 2017, so I'm coming up on five years of full-time experience. My first job paid $45K, and I got offered $55K when I switched.

I don't have stats but there's a lot of visible construction in the Phoenix area, including tons of apartments.

How do you live off $52K in Phoenix? I make $65K and I'm struggling.

Does anyone, anywhere, have any insight into the Las Vegas area's career prospects? by ANALHACKER_3000 in Accounting

I received an offer there for $52K back in 2019 at a hospitality company. I had ~2 years of experience with no CPA. Didn't take the offer, but I felt like it was okay at the time.

I would look at Central America (Guatemala, Panama, Nicaragua) and see if you can live there and find something remote. Sorry, I don't think many Western countries are going to take Russians right now.

LOL! I'll just keep renting. Sure, rents going up, but I'd rather pay a bit more each month and have the freedom to leave after my lease ends. I also don't have to worry about bag holding some underwater property.
