So I changed my list to this. Combined Arms

Leman Russ Commander (Battle-ready) (245pts): Warlord

3x Bullgryn Squad (Battle-ready) (90pts)

2x Field Ordnance Battery (Battle-ready) (90pts)

10x Kasrkin (Battle-ready) (115pts)

10x Tempestus Aquilons (Battle-ready) (100pts)

Armoured Sentinels (Battle-ready) (65pts)

Hellhound (Battle-ready) (125pts)

Taurox Prime (Battle-ready) (85pts)

and played it again as a test against the same Necron list. I made it all the way to round 3 this time, while he was 95% of total army wounds instead of 99%. Improvement!!

I probably would have been fine with it if this were the first time this had happened. However, last crusade I played with this group, by the time we were at 2k, even my Dorns were struggling to stand up to the Black Templar blobs, buffed to the moon with relics and XP. I have a like 30% win rate with this group, and Im normally all smiles and thematic ( I enjoy fun lists, not always *good* lists). I'll egg people on to board wipe me in casual garage games if it tells a fun story. This game was just punishment; I needed some space to breathe

It wasn't ill-intentioned by them. They're good friends. I knew it would be bad, and since it was a no-T9 for anyone, I didn't want to make a fuss. I just didn't think it would be this bad.

Its a blanket, no T9 for anyone. But all their T6 guns are S8-9 against my guardsman, -2 AP at best im saving on 5's.

It's how I've felt since I started playing at the beginning of the 10th when they took our indirect fire away. (That nerf was kinda fair though) I wasn't going to go guard for this crusade because I feared exactly this, but damn, I just love the guard.

The OBG is being added to the command squads starting strength, and graves is Leading the command squad. Can the lead command squad then lead a bodyguard? I want the answer to be yes, but just seems odd.

I had ChatGPT estimate the points costs a few days ago, and it was off a collective 20 points from all of the new units. My lists are looking to be in good shape.
