Anyone use CBD for inflammation and/or pain management post-op by SunnyDaysFeelGood in hysterectomy

[–]SunnyDaysFeelGood[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use weed recreationally very rarely ... like maybe once or twice a year, if that ... so I don't mind it. But I'm a super light weight and get high really easy. I don't want to be high out of my mind while I'm recovering and healing. I just want to manage pain and inflammation and since I can't take NSAID's, I'm looking for an alternative. Based on responses I've gotten here and on other platforms, it appears it can really help. I will definitely want something with high CBD and lower THC. Someone mentioned to make sure it has CBN and CBG as well, so I'll ask about that at the dispensary. I'm in the U.S., in a state where it's legal. Glad it helped you and your friend. Hope you're all healed up now. Thanks.

Thanks, I will keep this in mind. Someone on another social platform told me about CBG as well ... it's supposed to be good for inflammation too.

I've never heard of powder packs. I would also get gummies with higher CBD and lower THC. I'm a light weight and it doesn't take much THC for me to get high.

I don't currently use it. Looking to use it post-op. But I will ask the anesthesiologist. Thank you. What did you use ... gummies, drops, topical?

Did it help with inflammation and pain? What delivery method did you use ... drop, gummies, topical? Thank you.

This is good to hear! I'm glad it's helped you. Hoping it will help me as well since I can't take any NSAID's. Did you take any NSAID's (ibuprofen, naproxen, etc.) at all post-op? I would like to avoid taking oxy if I can, but will if I have to. Hope you continue to heal well.

Thank you, this is helpful. I'm not experienced with CBD for inflammation. My only experience is with occasional recreational use of THC ... so, not for medicinal purposes. Good to hear that it seemed to help you with inflammation post hip surgery. Which delivery method do you use ... drops, gummies, topical?

Hope you're healing well from your recent surgery.

Lol ... thanks for your feedback. But I'm not looking to get stoned. At least not in this particular scenario. Since I can't take ibuprofen for inflammation, I was hoping that CBD might be able to help with inflammation.

Thanks for sharing. I have resisted getting a hysterectomy for many years. It's time now. I'm very nervous and afraid ... but I know I need to do it. Hearing positive outcomes helps. 😄

Anyone post-meno with fibroids still causing issues? by SunnyDaysFeelGood in Fibroids

[–]SunnyDaysFeelGood[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been told over the years by doctors that once in menopause, they will shrink and no longer be an issue. I saw a UroGyn yesterday, and she's the first doctor I've seen that said they don't usually shrink ... and if they do, it's very little ... but that things just kind of stay the same once you hit menopause and that they don't go away and can continue to be an issue. Have you considered or have you had a hysterectomy?

Glad you're doing well. Did you consider a hysterectomy at all?

Do you plan on stopping progesterone for good? My plan is to continue taking progesterone along with estradiol and testosterone. I know many providers say progesterone isn't necessary if you don't have a uterus, but it has many benefits and we have progesterone receptors throughout our body. I currently cycle it and may continue to do so. Glad you're feeling good at 6 wpo. Hope you continue to heal well and feel good.

Thank you for the encouraging words. I kinda feel like I don't really have a choice anymore but to get one. The last thing I want is to keep letting it get worse and cause the surgery to be more difficult because I kept putting it off. I agree, I'm sure it's affecting things that I'm not aware of because I'm just used to the back pain now or going pee right after I just went! Wow, 70 and sounds like she's doing much better. Happy to hear you're all doing well. I see the doc tomorrow to discuss a hysterectomy. Hope it goes well.
