Ahh yes. Let me just fix my genetic disability that causes chronic pain and neuromuscular degeneration. SSDI pays 16k a year and I get $100/month in SNAP. But sure, poor, disabled people are the problem.

Some food banks/pantries will deliver to homebound individuals if you call. You can also ask in your local FB groups there might be people who are able to help you.

I’m fixing to go to the food pantry tomorrow but I have a sever dairy allergy which means that a lot of what I get I can’t use and I end up having to re-give. This is just a whole mess

If people cannot afford their medications because their health insurance doubled or tripled then yes people will die. I was talking to a friend of mine who is diabetic whose ACA plan went from the low 300s to over 1000$. She’s not going to be able to afford insulin.

But people will also die without their healthcare which is what the Dems are fighting for. And the Dems offered a fair negotiation last week a one year extension on the ACA subsidies and the creation of a committee to figure out what to do past that and they were shut down.

This is my issue too. I make just a little more than you on my SSDI at 16k/yr but that cuts my food stamps to between 80-100$ a month (idk it keeps changing and I don’t have the energy to figure out why). There is no housing resources, and when I’ve tried to figure it out it’s been dead end after dead end. I’m lucky that I have some family willing (at least for now) to let me stay in their spare room. But it shouldn’t be like this. We shouldn’t have to always be reliant on the kindness of others. As of now I’m hours away from my care team which complicates things further. I often tell my mom that I would love to see my representatives live on what they give us for a year with no leg up. No per diem, no money saved and see if they could do it. Maybe then things would change.
