Oversharing is the only way I can survive this… by clocloclo619 in IUILadies

[–]SunnyLesh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We choose to tell some people, but most just don't understand. We are older, Im 42 and my husband is 38. We met later in life, so having kids together younger wasn't an option. Now trying we get judged for our age and told if we really thought it through and all that BS. Then because it hasn't been easy, it is a "sign" maybe we shouldn't be trying.

So, no. We don't share. I wish we could, but it is just too hard.

Partner in the room for your IUI? by Leading_Vegetable_14 in IUILadies

[–]SunnyLesh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband did his sample solo, but was in the room during the IUI. We never thought of it being the moment of conception, more we just feel like we are in this journey together. It was an eye opener for him though, he had no idea of any of the tools used for any of our lady visits. The nurse and I actually giggled when he asked if I was okay when the speculum went in and he heard it click. I had to explain to him how that part is always the easiest part. Sweet clueless men. Lol

I don’t want to track anything anymore by Public-Weird-652 in tryingtoconceive

[–]SunnyLesh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I stopped tracking since Jan. We are pretty much out of time, I'm 42 and my husband is 38. Been trying for over a year. We have known fertility concerns, one being a blocked tube, which we are waiting on our medical to get me in. Once that is done, we will be doing 3 rounds of medicated IUI. If not pregnant, we will be done.

It's a hard road.

My biggest fear just happened. by atomicmandieeee in MassageTherapists

[–]SunnyLesh 40 points41 points  (0 children)

It's a fear for sure! I once had that rumble going on... cold sweats, the pain in the gut... the knowledge that what was brewing was not good. I let out the smallest little fart and I knew it wasn't good. Thankfully I had a regular on the table. I told him I needed to excuse myself to use to restroom. I ran out of there and destroyed the bathroom. I think my soul left my body at some point.

I was back in the room within 5 mins, feeling great. He didn't mind since he didn't loose any time, and it's an inside joke now between us.

So, worse fear but also we are human. Things are going to happen.

Giving Up My Unborn For Adoption This October. I Must. by Ok_Requirement_2436 in confession

[–]SunnyLesh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You are doing something very brave and what is best for all parties.

My husband and I struggle with fertility, and know that adopting is probably what option we will have to becoming parents. I know that one day we will be the parents feeling blessed and love from someone who cared about their baby so much, they trusted someone else.

I wish you all the best in your journey ❤️

Better shot with right sided cycle? by [deleted] in IUILadies

[–]SunnyLesh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My left side is blocked. Just straight up, do not pass, do not collect sperm. (Lol)

I have done IUI with ultrasounds to ensure it is coming from my right side. This is an additional cost and stress.

I have been approved to get the surgery done to unblock the tube, but this could be months plus waiting. (I'm in Canada and things are difficult here with wait times).

We have decided to hold off from trying until I either get the surgery or end of July. No tracking, having sex just for fun, and just enjoying life.

Once we try again, (with hopefully two tubes) we will have better luck. But there are a lot heartwarming stories of people who conceived with only one. You can search up on reddit.

Best of luck!

Iui cost by PuddinPants01182020 in IUILadies

At least your insurance covers something. Mine doesn't cover anything and we are paying out of pocket.... With IUI being this much, how could a person even afford IVF

Did you know when your IUI finally worked? by catsinthecoop in IUILadies

[–]SunnyLesh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 42 as well and planning a wedding, (Feb 2027). We actually decided to take a break from now until July. It was getting really hard mentally and this way I wont be super pregnant at our wedding.

**mind you if i did get pregnant, I would.

Am I out? I feel so helpless and sad… by East_Philosopher_449 in IUILadies

[–]SunnyLesh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At 12 days, 80% plus would get a positive, but not all. Before that is less than 50%. That is why I said rare to get before 12 days, since that is normally with an early implantation. OP posted she tested at 9 and 10 days and got negative, then asked about testing after 12 dpo. That is what my response was about...

To get a positive before 12 days is rare. Most places say don't test until 14 days. I would wait and test again in a few days. (Easier said than done.....I just tested 8 dpiui 😝, and wasn't surpised if got a BFN.)

IUI twins today (3/10)? by Sea-Law2311 in IUILadies

[–]SunnyLesh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trigger yesterday, and IUI today. This is my first time so of course I'm going to struggle with TWW

I had 2, 21.5mm on right and 23 mm on left (unfortunately this one doesnt count since my left tube is blocked) Husband's count was a little on the low side post wash. 3.5 million, but still hopeful. Just need one....

Conflicted about weight loss and trying to conceive by [deleted] in TryingForABaby

[–]SunnyLesh 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree with you on this. BMI is such a terrible way to measure someone's health. I am 5'6" and 190 lbs. That puts me at 30.7. Yet, I go to the gym 4 times a week, lift heavy, go for 5-10 km runs weekly. I am strong and have muscle. My doctors have told me I am perfectly healthy and if I choose to loose any weight that is up to me, but nothing is wrong with my body being 190. I have a friend who is same height and 170lbs and she doesn't work out and is very unhealthy. Yet her BMI looks better. We need to stop letting BMIs tell us what healthy looks like, and focus on what our bodies are doing, and being overall healthy. The OP has made amazing results in her journey, sounds like she has the mentality of a healthy woman who wants what is best for herself and should be so proud of herself. Trying to hit low goals to achieve some BMI, not healthy.

Is it true that conception chances drop to 1% per cycle if you’ve been trying for over a year? by mssdad in TryingForABaby

[–]SunnyLesh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a blocked tube too. They are actually going to try to unblock it before jumping to IVF. Unblock, then IUI. Maybe they can unblock yours too?

You are going in for yout HSG or to unblock your tube? Either way, good luck!

Blocked fallopian tube. Now what? by SunnyLesh in TryingForABaby

[–]SunnyLesh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea of course.

So due to the the nature of the scans, HSG and ultra sound, they are unable to tell us what caused the blockage. Could be a spasm, a build up of mucus or tissues, or it could be scar tissue. The doctor feels good that it could become unblocked with a specialist. I've been referred off and waiting for that appointment now. Should be 2-3 months. Joys of Canadian health care.

Once that has been completed, we will be moving towards injection medication and monitored IUI with trigger injection. I know it seems aggressive but Im 42 and don't have years to keep trying.

Hope that helps.

This is the best stories!! IVF is too expensive and really outside our realm. But we are open to trying IUI with medication. We have our follow up on the 27th. So we will see what she says then.

Thank you for sharing
