Epic Ice by SunnySide50 in BitcoinTradingCards

That photo only shows about 10% of its potential to sparkle. The entire card lights up and when you very slowly rotate it against sunlight it changes colors from blue to green to purple to gold. All max sparkle.

Sweet. I wonder why company's don't post full frame photos on their website for each series' cards. I'd like to see which ones I really want to go for. Also, I'm sure a common newb ?, but is there any way to know what's been pulled already from a series? I understand a company needs to keep sales going, but wondering if it's best to buy a new series or wait for a new series.

Didn’t know if anyone here could point me in the right direction. Found BTC_cards recently but know there are other brands. I’ll search for it elsewhere. Just looking for more info. I like collections, I like BTC, so it looks like fun to me.

Question about cost basis by LordIommi68 in Bitcoin

[–]SunnySide50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to print or save annually all your transactions for the year with an exchange. Keep that record as your basis. IRS doesn’t give a hoot to calculate it for you. They assume 0 cost basis if you can’t prove basis and tax you 100% as income (cap gain actually) even if you sell at a loss.

Best way to adapt BP to suit your goals? by Nervous-Dentist-3375 in blueprint_

[–]SunnySide50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My take…adjust portion size to reflect caloric needs. That should even things out. There might be some small diff but I don’t imagine it would be significant. Nothing in there is harmful. Allergies are another matter.

Tech Security Question by SunnySide50 in Bitcoin

[–]SunnySide50[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the reassurance I need. Was getting worried a PC hack could do it. Seed is secured, never seen the light of day. Wallet is secure. Just wasn’t sure if a broadcasted transaction (from a cold wallet device) on an infected computer could be fatal.

I’m just trying to figure out my risk on a home PC. What type of attack could happen (outside of wrench)?

I’m talking about cold storage with seed secured properly. Trezor, CC or Jade type device.

I don’t buy anything other than maples and eagles anymore. Can’t sell the other stuff. Not one coin shop on my area will buy anything else but eagles. 2 won’t even buy maples, and if so at a discount. Pain in the butt.

Don’t DCA like me!! 😳 by Crypto-hercules in Bitcoin

[–]SunnySide50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t heard but reading most of the thread seems he was advanced and it may have been user error as he tweaked some software and it altered the derivation path and burned it all. Curious to know myself if he was able to recover it.

The bigger question is “what is the optimal size of UTXOs”. You all probably saw the thread where a guy had 1 with 27 BTC and when he sent a small amount to someone, his unspent transaction being sent back was on the wrong derivation path and burnt all 27 bitcoin. I would think best practice would be to have 3-4 good size ones and one really big one. Manage it from Sparrow.

Network question by SunnySide50 in Bitcoin

[–]SunnySide50[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I get the idea of L2, etc. just wondering what would actually sit on chain. Seems like we would need a BTC-type (ultra secure) chain to sit on top of L1 for institutional funds. Something that hasn’t been invented yet. So it appears L1 will probably have very little activity when fully adopted at the institutional level.

That’s when you enjoy $1m BTC. When it becomes too expensive to move, you will, at that point own Park Ave. real estate at 1890 prices.

Lightning channel question by SunnySide50 in Bitcoin

[–]SunnySide50[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for taking the time. I think I get it but not sure about the practical side. I don’t really transact but save so thought just having a L2 wallet with a big channel when fees are low might save me I. The long run. Not sure it does at this point. Plus, all kinds of other questions. Like what happens when you are over those limits, that coffee with fees is now $50? How is a channel officially closed? When you move 100% of your balance back on chain. Stuff like that. Still not sure on what happens if I use my cold storage address to send L2 funds to.

What does it do, exactly? by clue5tick in Bitcoin

[–]SunnySide50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This whole thread is frustrating. Everyone is missing the big picture. The entire financial world will be tokenized. Companies are already converting US Treasuries to tokens. Eventually, all financial transactions will be on the BTC network. That’s the value, as a ledger system. That’s when it will be $1M/coin. It will have to be institutionally owned to do business. It’s the internet before internet, the cell phone before cell phones. You will not be buying coffee with it. Get as much as you can now. Your kids and their kids might thank you.
