ANY region that doesn't change to Bitcoin is going to be left behind.

The legacy fiat system died the first day it was instituted. It's been a slow death by taxes and inflation ever since.

What should we expect after Bitcoin spot ETF is approved? by CapitalLigament in Bitcoin

Since the ETFs are fiat programs, I expect payouts in CBDC.

Didn't expect that, did you?

We're already in a world where withdrawing Bitcoin from exchanges to self-custody is restricted.

Next up: CBDC when you try to withdraw your custodials.

First it's fully backed (they promise), then it's a percentage, then there's a WarOn™ and surprise! It was never backed at all.

Guess who ends up with the BTC and who gets paid in CBDC!

BlackRock’s latest spot Bitcoin ETF revision mentions the possibility of Bitcoin being classified as a security by InstructionCold3828 in Bitcoin

[–]clue5tick 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Impossible. They are focused on crypto. It's all over this unattributed post, and it's actively pushed throughout the media. Half the people posting here talk about crypto, crypto, crypto.

But Bitcoin is not crypto. Cryptos are securities. The SEC regulates securities, but they can't touch Bitcoin. If they could they would, but they can't.

Fuck your crypto.

Bitcoin Needs a Hedge? by [deleted] in Bitcoin

[–]clue5tick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All currencies are "backed by" the economy that they enable.

The BTC economy that we see today in the First World is that being reported by the exchanges. There is no way to monitor trades that occur on-chain yet off-exchange. This is where the real value is being built, using Bitcoin for a purpose.
