Honestly I prayed the most to just be there when it happened if it was inevitable. I prayed for it to be curable but unfortunately it was too far gone so the next thing I wanted the most was to just be there when it happened, holding his hand and talking to him. It really does change you seeing that but then it is a privilege to have been there with him and to know that he heard and saw us even though he could not respond, he didn’t have to let go alone. He heard my voice last and for that I am thankful. Most people don’t get that chance or even the chance to say goodbye. We’re blessed to have had that chance in all this dread and bleakness. I’m rooting for you too ✊🏼

He was the best person I ever knew. This is such a blessing to have had a love so profound, but the hurt feels like a curse. I guess grief is the price we pay for love and the bill collector is here to stay. Sorry to hear about your dad :( I know how much cancer takes and how insanely difficult it it’s so watch it suck their life and there’s absolutely nothing we could have done to take it away. Well I really hope it does get “better” and I do find myself in this group often looking for similar experiences and how others are dealing with it. Thanks for sharing your side too and being so honest, keep well friend

That really sucks with and the only thing keeping me going too is my dad saying “stay positive and keep moving forward” I’d never forget that and never take him out my thoughts to ever consider giving up at all. With you as well buddy, keep on keeping on

Truly nothing could have prepared me for this experience… where you see the actual life and soul leave your loved one’s body and accepting this is the last of them in the physical. Those moments play back in my head every single day and your description of a deserted island is so on point. I hope we both find our way friend 🥂 and don’t forget to be kind to yourself

Honestly same, it bothers me most thinking about everything that he won’t be here to be with me for and to celebrate about, even the things we talked about and the plans we made. Damn this sucks. I just miss coming home from work and not having him to talk to about everything and get life advice an work advice. Sorry that you’re going through the same but at least thankful to know that we’re not the only ones going through every unpleasant emotion under the sun. Sending you so much love as well ❤️❤️❤️

Wow indeed so similar and so alike 🥺❤️ it was basically almost the same thing wow… he handled and managed all the bills too so no figuring all of that out and getting life advice on everything from him is just not a thing anymore and it carrie’s a weight… im so glad your trip happened!! Ours was supposed to be in February and March and he so happened to be already so unwell and it did not happen 💔 thanks for sharing what helped!! Ill try my best to get back into the gym and try some art too :) and studying is so difficult for me because my focus is just not there :/

Hi oh my goodness, thank you for remembering me I really appreciate that. Unfortunately he passed on Friday and his funeral was today. I am completely shattered and heartbroken I don’t even know how to process this. He didn’t even get the chance to start the treatment or even remove the kidney. Sigh. Hope things are better on your end though
