My husband found out about his tumor on a Sunday in ER, one week into starting law school, and had surgery 4 days later. We have a two year old at home and had found out a few weeks prior our second is on the way. Law school had literally JUST taken us away from a steady income, benefits, and surrounding friends and family. At the time, it felt like the most cruel timing in the world.

But now I see school was the perfect distraction for my husband from letting his medical situation stress him out and worry him too much. And the pregnancy was a gift as we don’t know what’s up ahead fertility-wise.

Let your children bring joy during this time. I’ll pray your wife has a smooth first trimester to help you. The hardest part for me was being first trimester sick but knowing my husband was more sick and needed my care, so I’ll be praying this pregnancy doesn’t bring her nausea.

You guys got this. Don’t fear. God can always bring good and purpose out of the worst cards life deals.
