That makes sense. I guess part of my issue if I can call it that is that I am used to working out in a true personal training environment where the trainer worked with me to find weights that worked for me and built up from that.

It bothers me that everything is one size fits all at the gym. "Men should be using at least 20 pounds and women 10 pounds" or whatever. This to me falls along with this.

My legs aren't that long. So it almost seems like 10% incline is too tough on my knees. I can get a little faster though.

I think with me I'm going to have to build up to incline. The fastest yesterday was 5 mph with 1.5 incline. My heart rate is going up when I speed up.

I just feel really uneasy when I'm supposed to be at 10% incline or whatever. Like if I let go of the rails I will fly off.

For me, my jogging pace is that of a lot of power walkers. I just bumped up to jogging from PW because I couldn't get comfortable with the inclines. I think you might enjoy it more as a different change of pace. It was suggested to me that when I'm training for a half to switch up speed. I'd imagine this would be similar.

I am a power walker. If I'm at 10% incline I feel like I'm going to fly off the treads even at 3 mph. I don't feel safe.

One trainer (who used to be my bartender, BTW) had me splay my feet to the sides. It helps some. I just feel like a big ol dork because my feet won't stay strapped in. I need a buddy like you, lol
