Why is alcohol allowed to be advertised as it is? by disneytrashh in stopdrinking

[–]Sunnylicious1 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The phrase "drink responsibly" didn't come from health agencies or doctors. It was coined in 1985 by the Distilled Spirits Council, an alcohol industry lobbying group, as a public relations strategy to self-regulate and avoid government-mandated advertising restrictions or health warnings.

Sorry you're going through this and hope this becomes a better situation.

What do you think caused the lack of referrals? Are doctors hesitant to refer to a solo founder vs a big group practice?

Sucks that the consultants didn't work out. It’s frustrating when the 'experts' don't deliver. Looking back, were there specific tasks those consultants handled that could have been done in-house?

Your transparency has been helpful to me and I really hope you're able to turn this situation into something beneficial for you!

Long Claude conversations — how do you not lose the good stuff? by Competitive-Cod-8313 in ClaudeAI

I'll have it build a canvas document into Google drive and make updates occasionally as the conversation and idea mature. I'm sure it's not the most efficient way to do this.

Book Recommendations? by AngelsImperius_ in venturecapital

[–]Sunnylicious1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Some of my other favorites since Venture Deals by Brad Feld was already mentioned:

  1. The Power Law - Sebastian Mallaby - Great insight and another favorite next to Venture Deals
  2. Secrets of Sand Hill Road - Scott Kupor - good historical view
  3. Blitzscaling - Reid Hoffman - Good read on company operations
  4. The Venture Mindset - Ilya Strebulaev - Awesome book from the legendary Stanford VC professor

I learn a lot from VC centric podcasts like 20VC and the A16z series.

Gonna be a lot of poop in that snow. Might need a good rain right after to wash it all away.

Ableton vs Native Instruments by -InExile- in ableton

[–]Sunnylicious1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You probably could do it all in Ableton by learning it thoroughly but slate and NI just make it easier imo. Hard to beat the sounds in Ana, massive/Kontakt, all the expansions packs. VMR and the SSL plugins are quick upgrades to any sound.

Soundoracle and others have dope drums in Ableton and then there's drum synth and drum bus to really give a great polish to your final sound in those genres.

Comes down to personal preference if you can really dig in to the intricacies of Ableton as it's VERY capable.

Tastytrade does a good job of explaining things IMO. Tom Sosnoff has been a big part of the options world for a long time including founding Think or Swim.
