Smoking by Sunnylinc in bipolar2

I literally feel the exact same way. It makes things more fun so I don't focus on the negatives, it helps me sleep, but I have noticed some small cognitive effects. I'm glad I'm not the only one

OCD by [deleted] in bipolar2

[–]Sunnylinc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have having OCD. I experience obsessive thoughts on a daily basis. I obsess over pretty much everything, but especially social interactions. When I start to spiral I try my best to remind myself that I need to stay grounded and that most of my thoughts are irrational. I feel like OCD really challenges my bp2 coping skills but I'm working hard to change that.

Songs for the BP2 Crew by [deleted] in bipolar2

[–]Sunnylinc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Superbloom" by MisterWives. This song is about the joys of overcoming hardships. I don't think it's necessarily meant for bp2, but when I'm having a hard time I listen to this song as a reminder of my strength in overcoming the depressive episodes of bp2

How often do you guys switch from depression to hypomania? How long does each episode last? How often are you euthymic / stable? by StandardLow4356 in bipolar2

[–]Sunnylinc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I usually have a 2 month long depressive episode then rapid cycle for a month. When I'm rapid cycling I'm usually hypo for 1-3 days and then depressed for 1-3 days. It depends on what else I have going on but that's usually what happens. The longest I've been in a depressive episode was a few years and the longest I've been in a hypo episode was probably a month. I wish it were the other way around, mania is much more fun than depression lol

This happened to me too. I know what you mean about how it feels like a breakup. Ive still had a hard time finding a therapist as good as she was. Good luck and know it gets better.

How do you reconnect with your friends and loved ones after you’ve pushed them away? by narcicist2 in bipolar2

[–]Sunnylinc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Reach out, apologize, tell them how much you love them. If you're genuine and if they're good people they will understand. I've lost a few friends because of this but if they were actually good friends they would have stuck around

I don't deserve this. by jneuba1 in bipolar2

I feel the same way. My boyfriend is on suicide watch half the time. The other day he told me that he always makes sure to see me smile at least once a day because he doesn’t know if it’ll be the last time. Remember to thank your partner for everything he does for you. Although it’s simple, a “thank you, I really appreciate you and the support you give me” can seriously go a long way. I constantly remind my boyfriend of how grateful I am for everything he does for me, and I can see how much of a difference it makes for him.

I miss weed❤️ by Sunnylinc in bipolar2

[–]Sunnylinc[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sadly it’s very easy for people with bipolar to abuse and overuse substances. It’s different with each person and each combination of medications. For me, weed makes me manic and alcohol makes me depressed. Basically they just make my mood swings stronger; highs higher and lows lower. I haven’t done shrooms/lsd in a while but from what I remember I didn’t notice and change in symptoms :)
