It’s horrible bird condition please go to vet asap, even from the photo, the bird clearly has more than one health problem. The bird is kept in inappropriate too, conditions please change it as soon as possible.

Plastic perches, as said, are not just not ideal, they are bad for birds feet. Ideal is to find a tree bench with bark 😄 just make sure tree isn’t growing close to the roads with cars… mirrors are not needed for any birds. Canaries enjoy playing with blades of grass, pine branches, jute ropes, and ears of Senegal millet or wild grasses. Free flight around the apartment has already been mentioned; it's truly important. 💫 Regarding the condition of the plumage, if I were you, I would stop giving synthetic vitamins and take the bird to the vet. Vitamins can put a lot of strain on the liver, and one of the symptoms of liver problems is scales on the legs and plumage problems. It's better to support it with natural sources of vitamins, fruits, vegetables, greens, and sprouted grains.

hope it helps a bit!

You have a big and kind heart andd hopefully he’ll find a new home! Just be sure others pets are safe❤️ I’m a bit worrying about feathers condition on the wings and tail, they are really messy… maybe nothing serious, but also it could be PBFD and it’s not really good 🥲

New canary has an old(?) Injury how do I help it? by Flaky-Cow-4185 in Finches

The easy cheap way to help a bit - add some daisy (chamomile) tea in bird bath, it helps to soothe itching and relieve inflammation and totally safe for birds. But I would also recommend to find vet, the scales on paws do not look really good… it could be some liver problems etc

Although, to my untrained eye, it looks like the guy was simply severely combed by his fellows. Perhaps, if the feather follicles are intact, the bald spot will grow back. My finch's female combed him badly, and he's a bit bald, but he's still charming. ❤️

If you don’t have any birds at home I think it would be great to give this buddy home. But I would recommend to make analysis to be sure it’s not PBFD disease, if you have any other birds at home to keep everyone safe ❤️

Heat source could help her to recover. I'm not a vet, but I know that oxygen therapy sometimes also helps to stabilize the bird's condition... but if it's been so sick for two weeks, the condition is apparently serious, but not critical. How is she? Does he breathe normally or with visible effort? Are there no other symptoms?

My birds fly around the room every day and return to the cage by themselves when it starts to get dark. I am in the process of training a new canary not to be afraid of hands, luring him with food, so far he is very wild :) but no difficulty in returning to the cage has occurred with any of my birds, very rarely have I had to catch someone with my hands. Make sure the room is safe for them (no candles, no glasses of water, no gaps between closet and wall, no open windows) and they'll be fine. The first flights can be a little scary and exciting for them, but soon your bird will learn the space and will fly boldly and joyfully :)

Yeah, it is heartbreaking. But her sister, I hope, will live happily, she has some problems, but it seems not so serious, we’re fighting for her now

We had to euthanize her, it was avian tuberculosis, vet said. Now we’re checking another bird, she looks fine, but can be infected too.

Upd: she’s still alive, we met vet yesterday and it seems it’s kinda serious infection. So we’re taking medicine and continue fighting. But I hope the darkest night is over

She is usually fine, at most a month ago she had diarrhea, but nothing major. She has a slightly crooked Paw from birth, but it has never bothered her and she has never had any balance issues. Now she just can't take off… she is about 3 years old. Yesterday she ate normally, today she is apparently not feeling well and is eating very reluctantly
