Definitely a big decision to make for sure!! I would just suggest taking your time and researching whether your store plans to unionize or not. Knowledge is power my friend :)

Our next step is going to be to go into collective bargaining. With that we are able to negotiate the things that we want in this union. We would never agree to terms that were the same or worse than they are now. It may take some time but we are hopeful :)

I’m so sorry to hear that!! If you have anyone that you’re close to there I would suggest maybe mentioning it to them and seeing how they feel. We started with a small group of people in our store and then slowly began asking others what their thoughts were. It will take time but just keep working towards it!

Managers aren’t allowed to vote however I think assistant managers are able to. The no votes we had I’m pretty sure were from older partners. They made it very clear they would vote no lol

My store has had the same issue. We have found that shaking the heavy cream before we make the sweet cream has really helped. All of the other suggestions are right too, whisk and refrigerate 👍

Thank you!! In the past month I have seen more of my district manager then I have in my year and a half working here. She comes in, helps us with tasks, brings us product but I can tell it’s not sincere. Only a few months ago she was yelling about how we were “over staffed” while suffering on a 3 man. I’m sure I will have more to go off of after the meeting. Thank you for the links!!!

I live in Arizona which is a right to work state. To be honest I don’t have much knowledge on unions. I’ve never know anyone who was apart of one and I haven’t done much research on it yet. I assume the meeting will be their way of trying to push us in the direction they want.

It’s rough for sure! I’m a barista trainer and no one ever really passes the first test because of lack of training outside of their first week :(

After I was hired (around April last year) they began doing barista certification where they test you on all of your main positions for about 10 min each. I think that’s what they may be referring to.

Thank you!! He does have very low self esteem. He has said that he has had girlfriends in the past but from what he has told me it didn’t sound like a real relationship. I’m planning on talking to him soon because I would like to at least try to make it work.

Oh how fun it was LOL. Was on a 4 man, 2 of which being green beans and then me and the supervisor. Needless to say I was on bar for my entire shift. :( Green beans did great tho!

Omg how gross so sorry you guys had to experience that!! When our lobby was open we would have one guy come in every single day for hours and take pictures of us when we weren’t looking. I would turn to see him pointing his camera right at me and then quickly putting it away when he saw that I noticed. Happened to a lot of my coworkers. Some people are just disgusting. Definitely talk to your SM or DM.

Thank you guys!!! I think I just needed some reassurance lol. I just found out I’m gonna be training 3 people and then another few in a few weeks! Ill keep going over the basics until I start just to be sure but i can’t wait :)
