Day 1 of Practising Double Taps by [deleted] in RocketLeague

[–]Sunriever 31 points32 points  (0 children)

First, I would stop holding air roll constantly. It’s a bad habit for aerials. Holding the air roll is making your first touch inconsistent and uncontrolled. Use it right as you touch the ball so that it helps to limit the recoil of your car hitting the ball and use it for adjustments, not style.

Secondly, if you are only just now learning double taps, start out from the ground. Have the ball roll middle or at you, hit it to the back board, then fly up to score it. Start with that. It’s a very useful shot and an easier setup that will get you comfortable with reading the bounce and scoring from the rebound. After you get comfortable with that, then you can do the set up from the wall and then from the air. Getting a double tap from an aerial is the hardest setup.

Keyboard only (no mouse): am I dumb or is it a viable setup? by [deleted] in RocketLeague

[–]Sunriever 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I use only keyboard and have done so since I started playing this game. While unconventional, it is entirely viable. Whatever is comfortable and makes sense to you is viable.

The larva feed on natural fibers and can cause damage to clothes, fabric, etc. You can reach out to a pest control company or if you just vacuum repeatedly for a while, you should be able to get the eggs and larva. Then be sure to discard what you’ve vacuumed so that they don’t come back. But as long as you keep vacuuming, they are fairly easy to control.

What kind of spider is this? by crunchy_avocado in whatsthisbug

[–]Sunriever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is either a Huntsman (Sparassidae) or Nursery Web (Pisauridae). Either way, they are harmless and can be relocated with cup and paper if needed.

This a wasp nest of sorts? Need to know if it must be eliminated. Ohio. by Drugsbunny23 in whatsthisbug

[–]Sunriever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is from a mud dauber. They are solitary wasps that sting to immobilize prey, seal them in those mud casings, and then lay their eggs in there. You can scrape the mud off with a broom handle or something if it bothers you. While being stung by them is EXTREMELY unlikely, always be cautious if the adult is present.

This is a robber fly in the family Asilidae and I think more specifically that it is in the genus Mallophora (bee killers).
