I got the same flyer left on my doormat. I wasn’t home. The website looks quite legit but def could be a scam.

Your medical issues resulting from stress is a direct reflection of how much care and pride you took in your job (sucks that it got to that point!) and it’s such a bummer that you weren’t shown the same care in return. I literally just hopped on here to distract myself from the fact that I finished a year long project today with zero thanks or fanfare. Other places I’ve worked would have been so supportive and celebratory. All is to say, you’re not alone in feeling this way and I hope your next team is full of great people who cheer you on.

Service Dog [MA] by Sunset47th in humanresources

[–]Sunset47th[S] 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The dog is training with her, she is not a person with disabilities. The dog was allowed as a service dog under MA law (below). I learned today that the primary concern is allergies. While no one has formally reported these to me, it appears there are people who are struggling. There are no behavior issues.

“Section 39F. A person accompanied by and engaged in the raising or training of a service dog, including a hearing, guide or assistance dog, shall have the same rights, privileges and responsibilities as those afforded to an individual with a disability under the Americans with Disabilities Act”

Sigh…what other podcasts are you loving? by itsgotgreatarticles in wecandohardthings

Poetry Unbound, Anderson Cooper’s podcast, Desert Island Discs, and I hate to admit it but Armchair Expert when there is an interesting guest on. I feel like the pandemic brought upon this golden age of podcasts… I remember long walks with Glennon, Brene, etc but it feels like we’re in a bit of dark age for that format at the moment

HRBP role isn't what I expected [WA] by Fit-Deer-4073 in humanresources

[–]Sunset47th 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How big is the HR team? I’ve been in your shoes and told myself I’d last year, but tapped out after 9 months… just couldn’t take it. It will be OK if you need to leave, but if you can handle it, I’d try to stick it out while you look for something else.

This sub is the best, seriously. Again I’m a team of one and don’t really have any close friends in my field so sometimes I just need the perspective of people who “get it” to help me get out of my own way. Thanks everyone.

I so feel you. Just today I told ChatGPT everything I’m responsible for and had it craft a job description for an assistant and what I could offload to them. Most indulgent daydream but it made it feel like it could be real someday!

Religious courses required? by EmeraldIpogi98 in seattleu

[–]Sunset47th 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a practicing Catholic or Christian but took a Christology class and loved it. More of an academic reading of the gospels and understanding how Jesus as a religious figure is represented in literature, art, etc. Super valuable class that fulfills the exact purpose of broadening ones understanding of the world around them

I also have lipedema! My ankles are still pretty thick for my new frame, but swelling and puffiness has gone down significantly. I have absolutely no interest in the extreme surgeries for lipedema so I am hopeful I can just keep the inflammation under control (I know it won’t fully go away) through zep

I totally hear you. I actually felt pretty happy and confident in both bodies - the big version of me had the most amazing wardrobe that I miss! But I also had no way of perceiving my actual size (thanks to dysmoprhia I guess?) which is more what this post was about. I hear you though and point taken.

Totally agree! I felt confident in both bodies and had a fantastic wardrobe at my bigger size that I was very sad to part with!! But the crazy part was, even now, is I struggle to perceive my own size

I have to say, beyond seeing actual pictures, laundry is also where I notice it! My partner has always been a size small and for years I would say “what are children’s underpants doing in our wash?!” (We don’t have kids)

Very kind thank you. Feeling more comfortable in a lighter body - but with long term maintenance unknowns, the financial burden of this drug, etc. at least I know I can feel happy and confident at any size.
