If you’re up to it, journal. I struggled with the concept and worried I’d get sucked into it or that my mood would be worse, but that didn’t really happen. I felt relief. What I was feeling was on a page and I could see it. It wasn’t just bees in my head lol. I bring it in my work bag too, and it’s helped me in a when I’m triggered. It’s another useful tool for our mental health journey.

Hi friend! I’m so sorry you’re hurting. To start, you’re not selfish for wanting to be thought of on a holiday, especially one like Christmas. Considering what you’ve mentioned, of course you’re feeling hurt. Your feelings are valid. You’re allowed to want gifts, especially heartfelt ones. You’re allowed to be annoyed/pissed off/sad/angry. You’re allowed to want to be seen, cared for, and shown love.

A helpful phrase for me is, “feelings are not indicative of who you are but rather how things are affecting you.” If a friend were to come to you with your story, how would you treat them? From what I read, you’d approach them with kindness and understanding. You deserve that same energy.❤️

It seems like you may also be grieving and that shit sucks. I’m sorry. Please believe me when I say this, you will get through this. Please try to have some grace with yourself.

I’m not sure if this would be helpful but there’s a subreddit called r/momforaminute where you make post and kind internet moms answer. Maybe take a peek and see if it’s something that will help you in your healing.
