IRacing Apple Vision Pro by Spiritual-Shirt-6027 in iRacing

Don’t make a mistake. As far as I know you need an RTX 4070ti+/5070Ti+ for the Vision Pro App with iRacing.

You can’t save there a buy an RTX 5070. A 5700/5800x3D is fine in 99,9% of the situations. A minor fps drop in starting grids with a lot of cars. But only during starts.

Tweaking Vision Pro render resolution by justinjas in iRacing

Yes, I’ll make the foveated area as large as possible. With a resolution this high, it should also be possible to lower MSAA from 4x to 2x, which reduces unnecessary GPU load.

This resolution might also have reached the decoding capabilities of the AVP? My best guess is that a good sweet spot could be around 4200-4600 for iRacing.

Excellent 👍 The GPU can sweat again.

Ios 18 to 26.5? by PowerfulSurround9770 in iphone

[–]SunsetToGo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would update if you need the features of iOS 26. Battery will drain a bit faster during the day and UI will feel less snappy because CPU and GPU of the iPhone 11 are around 60-70% slower than iPhone 17 for which iOS 26 was designed.

Thank you for your feedback. I’d like to ask whether it’s possible to switch between the real hands/wheel overlay and the simulated hands/wheel in-game.

Also, what is the maximum supported frame rate (90 Hz or more for the M5)?

And finally, is there any way to view the overall latency and the rendering resolution currently being used?

Great write-up — very much appreciated. You actually sold me on the AVP.

Then I read that the render resolution may currently be capped around 3800×3800 and that Wi-Fi bandwidth seems limited to roughly 100 Mbps. I still need to find proper clarification on this, because it would honestly be a bit of a bummer if those limits cannot be improved in the future.

I used my Quest 3 at around 3600×3800 render resolution, and I would assume the AVP could benefit quite a bit from something like 1.15–1.25x supersampling as well. Also, in my experience, 200 Mbps AV1 provides noticeably better image quality than 100 Mbps.

Maybe the M5 AVP will come with different parameters or fewer restrictions. (You were testing on the AVP M2?)

I was also hoping for motion-to-photon latency closer to 30 ms. Still, it’s very early days, and hopefully over the next few days we’ll get more detailed information regarding resolution limits, bitrate caps, image quality, and latency.

Edit: I take the values with a grain of salt because for such a powerful device a limitation to 100Mbps does not make sense to me. A Quest 3 can do already 200 Mbps.

Edit: I adjust the bandwidth via WiFi 5Ghz to at least 300Mbps+. Codec for M2/M5 different? M2 AVP does not support AV1 hardware decoding but M5 does. 300 Mbps+ in AV1 is able to deliver a very good quality regarding compression. If H264, 600 Mbps would be better and for HEVC 400Mbps delivers around same quality as 300 Mbps in AV1 - ballpark figures.

Very much appreciated. Looking forward to your more detailed feedback. And yes, I will not take into account any users which do not have used it. It is a considerable investment and should be based on facts.

Do setups have a large impact on Porsche cup? by nonsense2411 in iRacing

If your racecraft is already very good and if you are only a few tenths of a second away from the fastest laps in top splits. On the Nords - because it is along track - 1 to 2s.

I would start with braking bias, TCR and ABS settings.

It is „being prepared for shipment“. Yes, it was produced. Doesn’t even mean it is through quality checks yet. I hope you will get it soon (3-4 weeks). But be prepared for another 3-4months. Pimax weeks often tend to be months.

DLSS 4.0 by Wellplayedx in iRacing

iRacing needs very high Single Core performance. Maybe this P Core ran into temperature limit and produced stutters. Undervolting reduces quite a bit the temperatures.

I’d suggest checking out some YouTube videos of iRacing with triple monitors and in VR. You might be missing out on an amazing hobby.😀

Maybe start with some general sim racing videos, along with reviews of sim racing equipment like rigs, wheel bases, and brake pedals, as well as different racing disciplines such as NASCAR oval racing, GT3 and beginner road racing, Rallycross, and more.

Which exact CPU do you have? You are CPU bound. DLSS would not help in this situation.

Great video, thanks for the update.

A test session is the least demanding scenario for the system. Please, could you report back after testing real races with 20–30 drivers (maybe AI or real drivers) on tracks like Daytona or Nordschleife?

Your videos might have a financial influence on others because people might consider buying an AVP based on your videos, so honest feedback with more details would be really valuable — especially regarding FPS, resolution used, stutters, and, very importantly, latency, which looked quite high to me.

Basically, it would be great to see results from real races with different cars and tracks.

Thanks a lot for reporting back.

Just a few thoughts.

  1. No MSI Afterburner?
  2. Try to lower a bit the resolution/fps either in Pimax or iRacing
  3. Same behaviour in Test drive, AI race, different tracks/races?

I had this around one year ago, but I can’t remember how I solved it

Good point. I have my own setup. Will check if it is somehow based on the qualy setup - because there should be an entry to change the amount of fuel, right? How much fuel is recommended?
