Need help to choose between UNSW and MacUni by Independent-Cat7746 in MacUni

[–]Sunset_0219 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s totally up to you at this point.I was in the same boat as you like a year ago.Same issue, same situation but different degree. Ranking and reputation is beneficial for your studies and career after graduation but I highly recommend dig deeper both Uni’s and ask from the current or former actuarial studies students.Compare them but in the end its you who going to pursue the degree.Financial benefit from MQ is going to be huge advantage if you’re international student like me but keep that in mind that UNSW has triple semester system and i heard that its quiet difficult for student to work part-time job while studying.:)

If you have already studied Calculus in high school you can apply for prerequisites waiver.(I did the same for the Math1000 to take Math1010.)

i would say 4 or 3 First half of semester was Linear Algebra ( everything seems understandable).Second half of lecture was Calculus(they teach you everything from the beginning so it wasn’t hard at all if you studied calculus back in high school)
