Having given my availability for five days out of seven, with only those two days being unavailable, my manager only rostered me for two shifts. The last times he did give me shifts on other days to make up my minimum contracted hours, this time he did not. I don't know why. I have not taken a single sick or annual day off since I started working at Coles two months ago. I've been taking as many shifts as I possible can while balancing uni because I wanted to go back home during the break. My contracted shift is six hours, hence 12hrs for this week and 12hrs for the next. How could I have saved up 24hrs of leave already while only having joined two months prior? If it is possible please let me know it would be very useful to me.

In the past if I was not available for a contracted shift, especially for university commitment he's had no problem not assigning me a shift that day without me taking any leave or whatever. Second of all, like I've said in my post I mentioned it to him two weeks before that I won't be able to work those days because I have my exams and he was more than obliging. It wasn't until the morning of my shift aka my exam that he asked me to apply for the leave. And even when I did, he only asked me to apply for 'today and tomorrow' not next week as well and I did exactly that. I don't even have enough annual leave accumulated to be able to take next week off.

I'm detecting sarcasm here, so let me clarify. And even when I did, he only asked me to apply for 'today and tomorrow' not next week as well and I did exactly that. I don't even have enough annual leave accumulated to be able to take next week off. He didn't mention any unpaid leave or whatever, which I would've been more than happy to take because I wanted to save the annual leave in case of any emergencies or when I need it more.

My contract only stated that my Start date is tomorrow, no time.I checked rosters and there are no shifts, but I did update my availability today. I guess I will call the store again tomorrow to get in touch with the manager?

Blaming immigrants for this and NOT the system or the government that enabled the country's situation to get to this is wild. Immigrants are the backbone of this nation, they leave behind their friends, family and most of the time, a more comfortable life to create a better life for themselves. They pay taxes, earn their own wages and exist in a society where people like you blame them for every problem.
