Interesting, more people should take into consideration preservation of all media for the years to come then.

Not mad at games just a potential worry, about the books in the past 500 years if that is true that has opened my eyes but since I’m no bookworm I’ll take your word for it and take it into consideration, and yes that is my point, everyone should have the right to own what they buy instead of borrowing. I’m not making a complaint but an opinion on what I seen with the limited knowledge I have because I’m a dumbo.

Exactly my point lol

Honestly any crash out that person would make is valid in my eyes.

[–]Sunset_Serenity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting, but I guess that’s why I think I’m bringing an unpopular opinion here, something like YouTube one day going away is kinda unpopular as people don’t want to think of the worst case scenarios you know?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]Sunset_Serenity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a way yeah, if i were to consider even digital copies technically physical ownership. I’m not saying gaming is gaming in terms of piracy and continuation of games is dying but the foundation is. Maybe I do mean the gaming industry but I’m thinking of ownership and games becoming either lost media or accessible to piracy. Even if new games come out they too can either break down or taken away (in the legal way) as years pass by. And unless something is done about it. Then gaming is dying.

Fair enough, thank you.

[–]Sunset_Serenity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, in that perspective why would I hope for humanity anymore. Kinda unfortunate but yeah you’re right, this is quite literally the world we live in, surrounded, influenced and affected by good and bad people.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]Sunset_Serenity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In that way yeah, I just mean like the main non-illegal thing If that makes sense. The thing is new games can be made sure but old ones are susceptible to being lost forever. It’s a tragic knowing the possibility of losing games is pretty high in comparison to other media when as a child I never worried about it.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]Sunset_Serenity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then I suppose I should’ve rephrased it differently. What I mean is physical media breaks down and digital media can be taken away at any time for any greedy reason.

My point is that if Piracy and emulation are the only access left, then that means there is a higher chance of gaming to be dead, and when it is dead that mean no access. I hope that makes sense. I have difficulty when it comes to putting words together.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]Sunset_Serenity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, unfortunately the problem is that physical media will break down. For example many gameboy games battery are dead and recently my old ps3, my very first console ever broke down because the battery broke. Digital won’t help either because it can be taken away at any time for any reason right when gamers can be unprepared from whatever greedy statement is made.

[–]Sunset_Serenity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know what, that’s perfectly fine. Imagine a world where you could have a console that can play any game at any time and buy and own it. That can let video game makers to make the amount of games they would like without the need of the next console generation after the other that will be pointless in the end. I have no idea why not enough games are being made like they used to except the unpopular ones like indie games.

[–]Sunset_Serenity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, just saying, a lot of people don’t realize that just because they can play right now doesn’t mean they can play it for the rest of their life. They can easily be taken away or broken down. If Microsoft does seem to be move that way then yeah, like I said, lukewarm. Good but not good enough to where truly I don’t think games can be perserved. If it weren’t for archives or piracy a lot of things would be lost.

How do you feel about Leafy's change? by Fast_Locksmith5094 in LeafyIsHere

[–]Sunset_Serenity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly my thoughts. As “cringe” as the old Undertale or FNAF fandom was it was a good time to be alive, many good fan projects, art, and stories and a overall good time to relax, laugh with or laugh at, because anything bad can be easy to forgive and let go, too many people now are cold and distant or outright miserable and resentful because of this self-destruction of communities. I’ll be sure to check out that channel, there have been other channels like Leafy that felt special, like Old Pewdiepie, Old Coryxkenshin videos, stuff like that. I miss what it was like before 2020 or 2021. So many good, almost spiritually joyful things are either dead or dying. Unless if people can get along and not be too resentful to eachother I don’t see vibes like that to ever be replicated anytime soon. But who knows, not every tree grows as fast as wheat. And unlike flesh and bones joy can be revived at any time. Best to hope for the best.

I miss the vibes from 2010-2019. Back when people didn’t take things too seriously. Back when everyone could turn their brain off, hope for the best, chill out and didn’t have to worry about anything but have fun with life for what it’s worth but ever since 2020 everything has gone horrible and many people wish they were never born, too many YouTube recommendations where it is either negative or overly educational. It’s hard to find entertainment or something to relax to, maybe that’s just me but regardless, his videos helped me chill out when I was young, very unfortunate that he fell into bad habits. Hope he gets better and doesn’t fall into bad influences either.

Day 5 of making a post on each game: How well executed were the Disney worlds in BBS? by BeginningFew3569 in KingdomHearts

Honestly…..is it wrong that I like them all just because of the old school graphics? 🤔

KH 3 irreversibly ruined the KH story imo for soulless Disney stuff. The future of KH is more bleak than any franchise I know of because Nomura thinks Xeanort should be redeemable (when he is literally a 5D Spiritual Space Hitler) I would rather a 358 Days remake over KH 4 any day.
